Anthonydinatale: How much por 15 will I need to do the bttom of my 2g ? I bought a gallon of it, my cost was roughly 125$ on it, I am not sure how much list or walk in customer price is, also I am sure every brand is differnt in price. However like stated, follow proper prep instructions, and In all to do all 4 wheel wells and the whole underbody I used exactly the full gallon, and roughly 3 layers across the whole car. I did not opt to spray on, everything is brushed and or hand rolled. In all prep and lay, took me roughly 28 hours.

JDT - Yes sir Naugatuck; I am actually looking to move closer to the Hartford area, more then likely Plainville/newington ect. Are you at Central or do you re-side in NB?

How do you like the swingouts on the cage? I want to do that with my next car, as it will be street driven, and I KNOW my gf will hate having to jump over a bar everytime. (Gotta keep the lady happy :) )

Well my hatred for the avenger comes from experience. My sister had one and it cost so much in repairs, leaking oil from several different places. I do however like the look of the car. :thumb:

lots of leaking oil, expensive to repair.....

sounds like a dsm:D

The swing outs are amazing; HOWEVER due to the design of the kit you could actually see the chassis "sag" very minimal talking 1/8" to cure that we installed Rocker/Sill bars along the door channel, and the car stiffened right out again.

So i do suggest that if you deside to make the door rails into functional swing outs, to plan on puttin in the rocker bars, and keep in mind you will need to offset you seats towards the center of the car which may or may not allow you to use your center console, it can be done, but tricky.

Thanks for the insight! :thumb:

I have a guy here in MN that does great cage work, and we discussed the swingouts. Ill have to ask him about the possiblity of it sagging..hmm :hmm:

how much does that thing weight?

Any plans to put it on a scale so we can see how much progress you've made? My target has been 2400 lbs for the RS while retaining daily drivability, but you want to take a heavier avenger even farther! I've been seriously considering the external door CF option - but I don't know how much work it will take to make them fit. Do they seal ok? If that modification resulted in horrible wind noise, I would hate it.

Thats a dope build bro...Props to you man....ive seen a lot of avengers out there but nothing like the one you got.... :thumb:

Car is bad ass! Always had a special place in my heart for Avengers, since I've owned one. A 420A one. But the statement about the 420A able to put down the same amount of power is extremely over exaggerated! Sure any motor can if done up right but the 420A in general, Neon or Eclipse version was poorly built, which is why recently people are doing SRT4 Swaps. The SRT4 Motor was redesigned to the limits away from the 420A. I'm sure you've seen the guy here that spared no expense and had his 420A Race Car built to the highest standards and he only got in the mid 600's Tuned. Sure I don't doubt he could sneek a few more ponies under the hood with some additional Dyno Tunes but he has spent ten times what any normal 600hp 4G63 Owner has spent to get his car where its at. The Same amount of money spent on a different motor will always get higher results than the 420A. It just costs too much to build a High HP 420A.

HOWEVER, with that said and from your statement on whats done, I have no doubts you'll be giving him a run for his money with the Stroker. I know a guy with a Sebring 2.4L Built in his Neon and he did 690whp.

So I honestly hope, and want to see this car up there!

I think the Body looks great, I am 100% against body kits but I will say it looks good. I would have rather done a Stock'ish (Dodge) looking front bumper because I'm just a dodge guy and think avengers look good that way. But I cannot bi*** because you have done amazing work.

As for the CF Overlay. It honestly isn't that much thicker when said and done. I'm doing overlays on some things and as long as you do things right, you can get away with like a 1/16th of a inch thicker which is kinda hard to notice unless your looking for it. I'm about to do a CF Overlay'ed roof on my GSX and I have no doubts it will flow perfectly. But you gotta think about how far you wanna go since you are looking to race this car, That much extra CF for no honest reason will add weight. Not only from the CF but from the Resin used. Not much, but it will add.

Goodluck! Can't wait to see more!

After hours of work, the doors fit like factory, windows seal just as well if not better then factory, keep in mind I also replaced every seal, weather stripping and grommet when I re-did this car, I basically did a frame up/off restoration to this car. Wind noise is non existant. My goal is 2200lbs with me IN the car. But I will take 2400lbs with me IN it.

empie1: Honestly a lot more then I would fair to admit, but to me anyone who does any car right spends more then they should. I am estimated to be in the 50-60k dollar range, head to toe. I replaced every nut, bolt, washer with all OE brand new, all brand new control arms, bushings, any upgrade avail. is in the car, if not avail. I CNC machined my own; you name it.

NeMiZiS: The 2g side skirts are NOT a direct swap, the only direct swap part of the side skirts is the door caps which I opted NOT to use for I felt it gave the car some depth to not use them however do have a set of true carbon ones if I ever so choose to use them.

The use of the 2g skirts was a factory set, cut, lengthened, then sent to carbon creations and we pre paid to have 10 sets made, and 10 sets only, they do not offer these for sale to public anymore.

InfiniteGSX: In so many ways you are wrong. The 420a like the 4g63T motor is a bed-plate designed main set up, VERY strong, the cast of the block is a pressure cast again VERY strong, oil passages to bearings are are of decent size and orienation, Internal engine components are readily avail. and at a decent price from pistons, rods, the 2.2 crank, ACL or P type 77 bearings, various ring options, and so on, same with the head. The only down side to the 420a platform would possibly be the "flatter ports" as opposed to the 1g head, and the non-availability of off the shelf intake and turbo manifolds that the 4g63T benifits from.

On the topic of the cloud swap, the 2.4L out of the cloud cars, although the block is a varient, to call it a SRT4 block is completely wrong, the srt-4 uses a secondary oil squirter for each main bearing for improved lubrication, and a few other key features I cannot remember off the top of my head. HOWEVER the cloud block is similar replica for the swap and a great option at that. Also note, DCR made more power doing a 420a head on the srt-4 block in their builds, then they do with the srt-4 head, keep that in the back of your mind.

That being said, If I did just a price break down of my actual motor/turbo build, vs a 700whp 4g63T builder, who did it the right way like I did, our expense sheets would be VERY similar in price. And I'd be willing to take that up with any 600-700whp 4g63T member.

Hey Black Cotton, are you sure you got the fiberglass dash at S&W? I checked their website and the only thing they have listed are aluminum dashes. Please let me know because I'm wanting to get a fiberglass dash.

I did get it from then unfortunately it was several years ago, and it seems that they have replaced the avenger funny car body with the 2007 charger, they do not even list the roll cage a purchased from then listed for the sebring any more.

Give them a call and see if they still are willing to produce the dash board if they still even own the rights to the mold. Again please keep in mind this is a RAW dash piece, i had to make brackets to mount it, cut off A LOT of material to fit the contour of the windshield, and extend the dash at least 4-6" to fit the width of the stock body.

In all i think i paid roughly 325 shipped for the piece.
