Enrolled in welding school, after i got my car back from the paint shop i come to find out the hood wont close with the manifold.

The collector was too tall, so i needed to shorten by about 3 inches but there just wasnt that much i could take off of it.

So i pretty much had to start from scratch, i had to restart the entire thing. I tried numerous configurations, tacking left and right. My pipes look quite ugly now from all the heat affected zones and tacking and breaking.

Eventually i came to the conclucsion that i just had to live with a standard top mount manifold and not a front facing. It sucks but if i can get it to work and get it out on the track ill be fine with it.

Theres still alot of work to do, i havent even put my seats or suspension it yet, because as of right now the car will not drive until the manifold is finished and theres a proper fitting radiator in it.

So for updates , the car is painted - mostly - and i have managed to tack together a manifold that fits everthing.. finally!

andddddd here is the current set up. Please note, most of these pipes have been welded or tacked, then cut of broken off, then rewelded and retacked etc.

So they look really ugly, prior to welding i am going to wire wheel them all, and it should be much much more presentable, ive allready done a few and thank god they came out nice and shiny silver..

This is real life, guy in a garage with very limited funds and not all the correct tools trying to make it work.

Looking good. What welding school did you wind up attending? Ive been debating it myself.

Next town over we have a state college irsc, they have a welding program. With EVERY type of welding which kind of sucks because I only really care about mig and tig.

And yes, 8 months. I havent even gotten my bumper , sideskirts, or mirrors back yet

yikes, thats a long time. I've been wanting to learn to weld myself as it would greatly aid in the building/make it cheaper (depending how you look at it)

Plus its a great career. or so ive heard =P

Didnt get anything done today really, straight from work to school. Did manage to get a little wire wheel action for a few minutes. ill post pics because why the hell not
