My 6 bolt swap on my 99GSX

uhhh ya, LOL well both, the regulator in a stock setup has a vac line to the solenoid. i eliminated mine also, but thats cause i have an Aeromotive A1000. Tapping into a line that has anything to do with fuel is usually a bad idea for something non fuel related.

A vacuum line is a vacuum line. You could tap into the one going to the brake booster if you want. Or the bov line, or drill and tap your own port. They all connect to the manifold and will work the same. Everyone just uses the fpr line, because it's closest to the steering column boot and it's the same size as normal vacuum line.

Except the draw to the gauge can off your Base FP. Tthats why it matters. You are right a vacuum line is a vacuum line is a vacuum line but its what they are a part of that matters. Anyway, this is my build thread not a tech thread and as i stated earlier, all my vac lines have a dedicated port to either the intake manifold or the turbo compressor.

here we go

not sure if its been mentioned, but your revised 7 bolt crank walked??? isnt that supposed to be extremely rare?

No i had a 97 engine in my 99 chassis when i bought it, 3 previous owners ago the origional motor was blown due to an evo3 16g and no supporting mods. The 97 showed signs of walk and i didn't wanna risk it so i sold it and installed the 6 bolt.

trapped 120 mph with the hx40 in T3 at low boost 94 oct and street tires. more boost race gas and slicks for 135+ traps!

launch sucked. 2.1 60ft has alot more in her.

im also considering upgrading the HX40 to an FP3586 HTA or possibly a 3794, the 3794 might spool a little late for me. the dsm is soon to be a dedicated track car since i just picked up a 2001 dodge ram 1500 for towing to the track! :)

since the last update a few things went down in the weight reduction land. i have a spare tire well delete plate, all sound deadening removed, all interior except doors and dash removed. cage is in the planning stages i have the base plates to weld them in. also looking at making a side exit exhaust for the hx40 and should fit the 3586 when that goes through.

current goals right now are still 9.9 @ 135+

the HX40 is great and all but ive noticed it is getting 26psi by 5k and that doesnt suite what im lookin for with the T3. between shifts at the track i was getting full boost at 5500 and since im on a stock valve train and springs i can only ride it out to 8k. :(

had to put the stock radiator back on cause i punctured my koyo :( such a bummer.

plans for change in the near future from top priority to bottom

1. HTA3794 .85AR t3
2. 15x7 or 15x8 Rota slip streams wrapped in hoosier QPT 26x9.5
3. valve springs
4. larger cams
5. Sheet metal intake manifold
6. ABS Delete
7. Cage

Direction has changed and she has become a straight dragster :)

I am receiving some BC276/276 cams and dual valve springs from brian crower inc to test out, i will be documenting the install and giving my review of how these fair on the street and track, and if able possibly a few dyno runs at magnus. Keep in mind i am still on a stock intake manifold. :)

I'll try and make it to the track before i swap my DG konis on so i can get an accurate comparison from the bc272's vs the 276's i know the DG's will help with my 60' because I'm currently on blown kyb AGX.

Drag season ends in november here so assuming things stay dry i should be good. Now i need to pick up more c16 :p

I'd like to give a huge thanks to Jack Stafford of JPI racing in Seattle who put together my motor 13k miles ago! Shes holding strong and hasnt missed a beat for all the abuse she has received!

Why did you start a new build thread, what was wrong with this one? It was looking good to me.
