Looks pretty cool. Not to be the stick in the mud, but did you use high-temp paint? It'll burn off if you didn't.

high temp paint doesnt need to be used on the valve cover, but high temp paint should probably be used on the block. Looks good though.

ya i know that i did not need to but it was more cost effective to just use the left- over high temp stuff to get more use for my money but the valve comer is not done i still need to paint all the lettering black.

hi temp paint DOES need to be used on the valve cover.

looks good tho bro

No it doesn't. I've used regular paint on many many valve covers and they have held up just fine. The valve cover doesn't not get hot enough to burn the paint off.

Did you think of painting the lettering black?
I think the black on bronze would look awesome!

either way...props on your paint job.

To be honest, it looks pretty dang good for $25 considering that it'll cost over $200 or so to get both of them powdercoated. Heck, I just bought a rebuilt tranny and was thinking about giving it a few high-temp coats of paint.

Quick Question: I have a rebuilt tranny in my garage that I've cleaned up pretty good and nearly 100% grease free. What would I have to cover if I wanted to use this sort of paint and give it a nice look before it goes into my 1G?

I have spray bombed plenty of valve covers and i dont think any of it stays to be honest. I have used every type of paint it all comes off too easy. The one off the shelf paint i did used that works awesome is that wheel paint that says track tested on the shelf at auto parts stores (advance being i work there). That stuff is awesome we took the gun metal and used it on my project block im working on an it does not come off easy at all. I did one of those replacement oil caps they sell that are aluminum an the stuff never chips off i highly recommend that paint. The only problem is it they only sell a few colors on the shelf.

Love the bronze!
