whats up guys,
I finally got some pics of my muffler and guage mount. It is the Magnaflow 3" in dual 2.5" out and it sounds great. The guage mount idea I got from a fellow DSMer. What do you guys think?

pretty sleeper, and looks good, how do you think the presure hose is going to like the bending of opening and closing the door repeatadly? I was going to do that with my electric greddys, but still, very nice

**EDIT** think you can get a sound clip and post or email it to me? I am thinking about getting rid of my Apex canister since the new exhauast laws out here blows royal. Thanks in advance

the gauge looks good in my opinion, but i would never have it where i could not safely see it. i think it'd be to hard to make a quick glance to see what type of boost im running and not be distracted with my driving. i think i'll leave mine on the a-pillar

Hey trbotaln, would you be able to post a sound clip sometime? I'd really really appreciate it, since almost all of the sound clips on this site are of cheap fartcan mufflers. By the way, your setup looks great.

yah I will try to post a sound clip very soon. I used to have an apex style muffler and this one is much deeper. It sounds very mean and not ricey at all. The muffler is kind of hard to fit there, thats why mine is at a slight angle but you can't hardly notice it. The guage in the door is actually easier for me to see then on the pillar where I had it before. :D

its the 18" body and I think the only reason it fits in the cutout area is beacause I have my 3" piping going over the frame instead of under it.

I have the Edelbrock 5525. I painted it flat black and it looks almost like a stock muffler to the untrained eyes. It sounds great :thumb: nobody complains about it, and it has no raspiness or obnoxious sounds. Its a deep, smooth sound that doesnt carry too far. You can still hear the cam idle through it and its $100 from Summit Racing :thumb: :thumb:

So have you gotten around to postin those sound clips yet trbotaln? ;) I really would like to hear your car if you ever find the time. I still can't find a decent sound clip of a magnaflow so your my only hope.

My Magnaflow is actually the 14" body - JEG's showed each listed- a 14", an 18" and a 20ish inch body...

I'm excited... just trying to get the O2 dump worked out then I can gives pics too!

an electric boost gauge = no vaccum lines in the cabin ! ! !

if he did it like that , it will work perfect , it will just be hard to glance at that gauge ...

its at 0, car is not running. what does your manual gauge read when your car is off, think about it. Its a mechanical guage not electric

I have the Magnaflow 3" inlet with dual 2.5" outlets and I had it installed perfectly straight. It was hard to find the way, but it is possible as in my situation.
I actually had a muffler before I installed this one. What I did was cut off the tips from the old custom muffler and welded them to the magnaflow. The Magnaflow I bought was the polished one. This muffler sounds really nice as well. Deep and aggressive. :thumb:

Is it the 12388 PN that has a body of 24" or the 12288 that has the 18" long body?

Don't get the 12288.( http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/shopexd.asp?zone=main&id=471) Unless you still have the stock exhaust. The inlet is 2.25 with outlet 3" That would also explain why it had to be set at a slight angle. The one I got has a 14" body with a total length of 20" Model # is 14221. For 3" exhaust. It is the polished stainless steel one. When I bought it, I paid like $100 and had it installed with a mandrel bend. Costed me $150 for just installation of the muffler with the bend and they cut the tips off the other muffler and welded it onto the Magnaflow for free. I have 3" Catback pipe. Right now it lists for higher. If you wanted the aluminized one # is 12198. It is the exact same muffler as the one I got but unpolished. What I like about the polished one is the word MAGNAFLOW imprinted on the muffler so it cannot be mistaken. Both links below show a picture of the muffler.
The link for the 12198 is http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/shopexd.asp?zone=main&id=464

The link for the one I have 14221 is http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/shopexd.asp?zone=main&id=630

Does anyone have sound clips of this muffler yet? preferably on a full 3" turbo back? I want to hear what it sounds like going from 3" down to 2.5

You have an AWD, the read end is a bit different. Us FWDs have much less room to work with.
