which muffler should i get or should i get a cat back? and is there any horse power gain with just a muffler? also can i get that angled look with just a muffler?

With just a muffler upgrade your not going to see any horsepower gains. It will be very small. I would recommend a catback exhaust. Or if your willing to spend the money do a turbo back exhaust. And make sure it's three inch piping. With the turbo back or you'll see power gains. And you'll be able to get the angle look your looking for. the only way you can get the angle with just a muffler is if you have it done custom.

Pretty much all your going to gain with just a muffler is the sound. A high flow muffler would not give you a noticeable gain in power.

A catback would be better, but the best way to gain hp is to get new o2, new dp, catback. That would be pretty pricey though. What I did is Just buy a megan racing dp which deletes the cat. Bought a high flow magnaflow muffler, and took it to a shop and had them make me a 3in exhaust for 110. It came to about 270-300 all together.

i did the same thing basically bought my muffler a 3in dp a new o2 housing with a waste gate dump, a high flow muffler, no cat and about 10 feet of 3in exhaust piping and a few bends. a way cheaper alternative by far.

around how would a turbo back exhaust system cost? i was looking at the greddy evo2 catback for $550. do u think i would be better off going turbo back though?

SBR has a turbo-back for $600. You could probably have a shop put one together for you for cheaper though if you know where to look. You will eventually want to go full turbo back once you upgrade your turbo and other parts of your car for less restriction.

I bought a Apexi N1 system for my AWD talon from the turbo back. Nice system and i only gave $750 for all of it. Very satisfied.

Your kiddin right, 750 for turbo back? It really depends if you want name brand or pocket book. Pretty tough too screw up a 3" pipe and welds, might sound lazy, but I'd go Ebay, for under 450 you can get an o2 housing, downpipe and catback. Sure there's no fancy stickers, but atleast you save some dignity. There has been alot of talk lately about ebay exhaust systems not being a full 3" system, but even if this is the case, $100 to your local exhaust shop and problem solved. I guess the choice is yours (MikeyMuscles82). Personally, lifes too short to pay double for the same exhaust minus the little """"" name tag.:rocks::dsm:

It was just because I wanted the brand and wanted to put it straight on. I didn't have time to go have some made up. If I would have had time I could of had it done for less then $300. and that include buying the downpipe. I bought the exhaust over 3yrs ago. So it has paid for itself I think.

Megan Racing exhaust components are the best of both worlds...very cost-effective and very reputable.

you can build them cheap yourself, or spend the money which goes into more than just name (sometimes) like the thermal research, I believe it is stainless steel and costs more, but it is one of the best sounding exhausts (imo) and if its stainless like I remember it wont rust (as easy) Thats just me though, you usually get what you pay for.
