Alright, on my stock radio I have the regular antenna, the main wire harness, and the, what looks like, something for the motorized antenna. Well....if I were to put an aftermarket radio in there how would all that work? The one that I already have only has a place for the main wire harness, and the antenna.

power antenna control is by a normal-looking wire.. generally blue and within the main wireing harness of an aftermarket receiver

Ya the smaller "diversity" antenna i think it is called. I was confused by this so i called up American and they told me that i didnt need it.

I was under the impression that the two different antennas are used when one of the two gets better reception.

Example: If the main antenna gets a better signal than the smaller diversity one, then the main antenna will be in use. Likewise if the divservity antenna gets a better signal it will be used.

That is how i figure it works...if thats not it then, well someone correct me :thumb:

Well, I switched it today and found yet another connector (that makes 4)....my guess is that it is for the 6-disc changer which the cartridge was removed before I got the car...but it is a round plug with pins in it...is that what it is?

The "diversity" antenna is a second, glass-mounted antenna on the rear hatch, only on Eclipses. I don't have any kind of clue how it's supposed to work, nor if it does. There's still just one wire running from the car to the radio, and a splitter goes on the end of that.

Look under your passenger seat for an amplifier, that's what one of the DIN cables is for. The other DIN cable is for hooking up the trunk-mount CD changer, from the days before MP3 existed.

The factory radio may have yet another plug on the back of it, for the remote radio control mounted on the steering wheels of the Stealth/3000GT.
