Alright, so I just finished up rebuilding my motor and over the weekend got it put into the car, now I cant get the car to stay running. I turn the key and it turns over and starts up fine, but it immediately dies right after it starts up, i'm talking like a second after it fires and starts it dies. If i give it a little bit of gas the engine revs up pretty high and stays there for about a half a second then drops down fast and dies again. I have spark, i am getting fuel, i'm pretty sure its got good compression even though i haven't checked it yet because its a rebuilt motor. It has a 2.4L crank, eagle rods, wiseco stroker pistons, removed balance shafts, new revised lifters. All the machine work was done by a local machine shop who also put together the bottom end and the head for me. Any ideas as to what could cause this? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Too much fuel pressure...
Dirty/faulty O2 sensor...
Faulty Mass Air Flow...
Problem in ignition system involving spark delivery....
Massive Vacuum leak...
Dirty/Old gas...
Clogged Fuel filter...
Faulty fuel injector...

Any of the above. Oh and timing. BWHAHAHA. Im on the same page you're on bud.

Alright, just a little update here, i was out messing around with the car a little bit tonight, and decided to take off the UICP and see what would happen, i just disconnected it at the throttle body and when i started it i hit the throttle a little bit, and it revved up to about 3K or 4k rpm (cant say for sure what rpm because my gauges don't work either, but that's a separate problem that i already had before i rebuilt the motor) on its own, and stayed running, but it had major idle surge. What could cause this? Bad mass airflow sensor maybe?

Also i don't know if this makes any difference but i removed the A/C while doing the rebuild. Could that maybe be causing the engine to idle really high because there's less load on it?
