motor trouble-talon tsi

i have a 95 talon tsi. i bought it from a person who claims they "know" what their doing. he ####ed it up . the old turbo was shot i put a new 16g in it. took it to manchester,NH and back to west lebanon,NH no problems whatsoever. the next morning it wouldnt start. took it to a garage they said i had no compresion so all the internals are ####ed. but it wasnt that serious i dont think. the timing is off by a degree or two and maybe thats why it isnt getting compression?. PLEASE let me know ASAP.i do not want to get rid of my first car.

If the timing belt is off, then you probably won't get good (if any compression) because either an intake or an exhaust valve is probably open just a hair.

Sounds like you should remove the head to check the valves for damage, get new timing components and replace the head.

^ x2, was the timing off when you first got the car and drove? You could have bent a valve.

if your timing is off you very well may have bent one or more valves.
