Motor Swap Q, '96 Motor in a '99

I'm helping a buddy swap motors in his '99 GST. He has a spun rod bearing, and picked up a used motor from a '96. What do I need to look out for? Just off the top of my head is the Cam, and Crank Angle Sensors. What do I need to do about them?

Take off the valve cover
remove the black cam cap for the intake cam on the left side (facing the motor)
install 97-99 CAS and plug it in.

If I put the '99 CAS on, Do I have to remove the '96 CAS from behind the cam gear?

It doesn't really matter whether you remove it or not. Either way you won't be using it so you might as well toss / sell it.

Using either the 97+ CAS or the 1G CAS with a 95-96 ECU does require swapping plug wires and injector wires. So remember that or all you'll do is backfire when trying to start it for the first time. Without the injector wires swapped, it will run but it'll seem a little off when cruising.
