Motor Suggestions?

so how about 2 days before i put my car up for the winter it develops a rod knock. Well i guess its better then getting all the stuff installed and it happening next year right! So with that being said should i buy a stock replacement or build what i got over the winter and be done with a bottom end build? All suggestions would be considered, thanks.

What DSM8883 said, you can't just ask a question like that without giving info on what your goals are. If you only plan for 350 or so, the stock bottom end will be fine. More than that it would be worth building.

sorry about that guys, overly tired not thinking at 100%. i already got 16g installed when i blew the motor. i was gonna do 880s, 225lph, fpr kit, fuel line upgrades, 50 trim, exteral gate, already got fmic, and thats about it...a nice 50trim set up. it wont be a strip car, if anything it will be auto-x.

i dont wanna go too far with it as it is still my daily driver. i love the car just needs a motor and paint and im good i think....its a dsm who knows . so couldnt i just replace the bearings, rods and be done with it or is there alot more to it then that?

If the rings are fine(as in the compression is nearly the same across all 4 and it passes a leakdown test) then all you need to do is pull the engine, turn the crank(if its okay) and slap some new bearings. If you havent done so already, then you could get rid of your balance shafts.

if thats all i need to do rather then buying a new motor id much rather do that and save the cash for cooler parts . i mean the car starts and runs 100% perfect with great oil pressure, have zero problems starting, just that knock is horrendous
