I'm trying to remove the 7bolt from my gs-t, so far I have removed the battery, uicp, radiator and fans, and the turbo and manifold. If I unbolt the tranny will I be able to lift the block out and if so what do I connect the motor lift to.

just get a motor lift station that moves. I just had a bad experience with liften up a motor and putting it on a pallet on my garage. I recently purchased a 94 gst motor from thge junkyard that came with a new turbo, all the icp, side mount intercooler, mass sensor, wire harness, transmission, and everything else, and ima just pull my n/a motor out that i modified n turbod and just stick in a turbo motor so i can up the boost and everythin. I payed 500 for everythin and ima rebuild it and cryo treat it before i put it in. Busted my knee cap pullen it though ### one of the straps we used broke and the engine fell on my knee..... yea sucks huh, so basically though jus b careful whatever you use, and yea 6bolt would be better but only if your spending all that money certain your car is goin to or is experienceing crankwalk.

You need to remove the pullys from the drivers side, as well as the oil pressure sending unit.( I have broke mine 2x by forgeting) Un bolt the trans start cussing and in about 30 minutes it should be out.ROFL Seriously make sure everything is unhooked, take the pullys(crank pully too) off, Take the bolts out of the transmission mounts, all 3 of them. This is the method I use some people say to pull the trans with the motor but to me it just seems like more work. Good luck I jsust put mine in friday pm me if you have any questions. Good luck
P.S. watch the cruise cable I broke one of those too.

you need to go vfaq and read the article.
you should look in plymouthlaser.com and read that article.

you should use the search and see the 6700 threads on this.

I did search, well 3 for that matter and found nothing related to the question that I asked however I did find a billion topics about 6bolt swaps, but again none where very helpful.

well...

This is how I do it.

drop the xcase (not in your case)
pull the radiator.

unplug everything, lay the harness over the fender or on the winshield.
pull the axles.

drop the exhaust.

get a engine hoist, and Pull up.

engine + tranny
the tranny side has to be lower, but will still catch, have a buddy jack the hoist while you angle the mess to get out. its simple, ive done it probly 5-7 times now.

Everyone is all, leave teh tranny in the car, bla bla, take of pulleys, this and that.

No.
that is all un necessary.

This is one of those things that everyone has an opinion on, some both at once ,some just the motor. In the 1 g cars you can unbolt the transmount from the frame rail making it a little easier to get the whole mess out, on a 2g the mount is welded to the frame. I always leave the trans in, its easier for me, and less stuff to unhook, and I can do it bymyself if nobody is there to help. Either way good luck.

Ok now I'm runnig into another problem(I'm starting to hate this car) how do i loosten the belts for the pullies and how many bolts hold the tranny on and where are thay all located. I was able to remove like 5-6 of the tranny bolts but I'm sure there are more can some one post pics of how to do these.

I'm still having a problem trying to figure out how to losten the belts to get the pullies off can someone help please.
