I did a search and couldnt find a thread on removing the old motor mounts. I have prothane motor mounts and am not sure how to get the old ones out. If anyone has installed these already or has any insight please let me know. Thanks.

1)Front is cake, just make sure hte original mount is in descent shape or replace it since it is only a insert.
2)The timing belt side is alright. just take the original mount out.
3)use a torch and burn the rubber center out. use a tool to helpo it out (scrap off the old rubber with a large straight edge screw driver or similar).
4)Use a small hacksaw and cut thru th e ring (carfull of the mount itself) and reuse your screw driver or a pry bar and start at gettig that ring out.
5)then just press the 2 halfs of the prthanes together. next slip in the metal sleeve and reinstall.
6) the tranny one is a little harder, first remove the mount.
7) follow step 3-5 as outlined above.
8) the rear is a beotch just because of where its located. there are a few threads about better way to get to it. Here is one of the most recent ones: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=193462

you may need to have 1 or more mounts out to get some of the others out. (to give the engine/tranny enough play to get them out. I personally like to do the tranny mount first (I have installed about 7 sets of these dam things now) since its a bit of a pain to get the mount to clear the bracket on the car. I outlined them in the order above from easiest to hardest.

Your car will have a bit more vibrations for a while till everytihgn works its self in your you get use to it. took me about 2 days. now I dont think of them as being there but my freinds sometime complains about the vibrations. Ohh well I will take the vibrations over wheel hop anyday of the week. Good luck at your install. Just be patiance and take your time.

Thanks for the step by step. My motor is out due cause it blew, so that will make it easier to get to all of them. I will have to replace the front and back stock mounts cause they are ripped. Know what would be the best place to get new ones? Thanks.
