ok im in the process of tilting my motor out so i can replace the timing belt befor it breaks. i have undid all the little things like the battery and the airbox. i also removed the radiator and the hood.

now this car is a 4wd so do i have to remove the transfer case to tilt the motor? or a better question is how do i tilt the motor so i dont brak anything? i have all the tools needed to pull a motor but i need to know what steps i need to take.

Use a floor jack and a block of wood under the oilpan to support the engine's weight. Remove the driver's side engine mount, and the driver's side splash shield. You shouldn't have to raise or lower the engine too far to get to any bolts.

yeah hes right also im sorry to tell you, you dont have to take out the radiator or take the hood off or disconnect anything, all i did was disconnect the drivers side motor mount and put pressure on the oil pan with a floor jack and block of wood

wow now i feel like an idiot. oh well. but um where should i get my timing belt parts from? i was told the dealer would charge alot. and i was also told only to buy OEM. so is there a site to order from for the timing belt and all the other things that need to be replaced with the belt?

yeah i have all that stuff ordered and it is sposed to get here on saturday so i can get this thing going again.

i got the tensioner pulley, timing belt, tensioner, harmonic ballancer, balance belt balance tensioner pulley, and a new water pump.

And at the least a Hanes or better yet a factory maiantance manual. If you don't all ready have one.

I have a bigger question. Why are you taking the whole motor out to do timing belt stuff?

im not taking it out all the way anymore. i was at one point going to rebuild it all the way up but im waiting till this summer to do the whole rebuild. im just going to do the timing belt stuff now.
