It's a bit more, but not too bad. I don't even notice it anymore. :)

Get them, they are worth it.

I agree totally. I've got the Prothane kit on my GSX, it was never what i would consider unbearable.

cool Hope your right I just ordered mine....

I love summit.. they are one state over so shipping normal ups ground takes 2 days.. and they have good prices. too bad they dont carry more import parts

just got my 1g dsm and started lookin around for mount options..
i kinda wanted to steer clear of prothane inserts.. as i had them in my neon r/t for a while and hated it.
note: the prothanes in my neon's stock mounts made the vibrations REALLY bad. my current mount setup is much better - solid front mount, solid rear (bobble strut) and "firm" filled side mounts (www.deyemeracing.com)
you'd think the vibes from my current setup woulda been worse by the sound of it. hehe.

im still going to look into some filled mounts.. ill contact Travis over at DeyemeRacing and see if he does them (not listed on their site last i checked) or rather, will do them.

but then, the filled mounts will be a little costly compared to $20 for that insert set at summitt.

now, on my neon, i noticed the prothane inserts did NOTHING to stop the existing mount from tearing worse than they were.. is this a problem with the DSM as well that anyone has noticed?

EDIT- well i went to summitt, and i looked at them $20 inserts. they arent listed for my '91 :(

I ordered mine this past Friday, they should be in soon.

so you dont want my opinion.... noo thats aight I wasn't gonna give ti to you anyways!!!!! j/k

Of course I want your opinion, I didn't even catch your post above! Anyways, I might purchase the prothanes if my wheel hop continues, but so far, it looks like I will be purchasing them pretty soon.....

Here are my suspension/tranny mods in case any of you guys are wondering:
- Tokico Illuminas (Front and back)
- Eibach pro-kits
- 18X7.5 Racing hart CP-8 with Kumho Tires
- Front and Rear Strut bars
- ES motor mount inserts (front and rear)
- BM LSD
- ACT 2100
- ACT XACT Flywheel
- RRE SS Clutch line

With all of these, I will still get wheel hop in first and second even though I can feel two tires grabbing with the lsd.... Any ideas/ suggestions to further reduce/ eliminate wheelhop?

K, so I installed my mounts couple hours ago.
I wished I did it when i was doin my clutch, would of save alot of time and bleedin knockles ;)

its not that bad though,
remove the battery, speed sensor, get a short 14 socket, swivel, and about a 2 foot extention and you'll be fine.

its prolly a waste of time to try remove the center bolt before moving the mount, maybe u'll get lucky. I removed the 3 bolts on the frame, 2 or the tranny, then slide the mount near the axle so i have more space to work with.

I still have a of tad hop though, but it was greatly reduced and less violent.
on a scale from 1-10(10 being worse), my wheel hop use to be like a 8
after i installed the Front an rear insert, my hop now is like a 3

I'm still on stock suspension, so If upgrade that, and do the prothane sides also,I'm guessing it should be completely eliminated.

It also feels a bit more responsive and more solid when I shift, I dont hear that clonk anymore :), I dont have to slip it as much slip it as much now.

as for the vibration, I was expection more after hearin all this hype.
Its really not that bad. as first I BARELY noticed it, probably because the car was cold and idling at about 1200rpms.
but then at the traffic light is when I began to feel the difference, but nothing I cant bare with, If you cant, just bump the rpms to 1000 and u shouldn't notice it.

Did anyone else get their motor mounts installed yet?! Just to update, I played around with my tokico settings (3 in the front, 4 in the back) and lowered my tire pressure in the front down to 32 psi (when I got my tires and rims, they were all inflated to 42 psi!!), no wonder why I was getting crazy wheel hop with the es inserts! However, after doing all of these little adjustments today, I went out and took a test launch and absolutely no wheel hop at all off the line and into second. So in the end, these inserts are well worth the money!

If you want to go cheap and really solid, you can do what I did. Go to Home Depot and buy PL Polyurethane Premium Construction Adhesive. It hardens into solid polyurethane, and it's a tighter fit than the insert. On top of that, a tube for your caulking gun costs less than $2.00. If you take it a little at a time, you can do all your mounts over a weekend. I feel like I'm driving a different car right now. It's very nice. I do need to up the idle to about 900rpms because of the vibration.

Enjoy

I would recomend just buying some 3M windo-weld. It is $12 a tube and $2 for a caulk gun. One tube is enough to completely fill all 4 mounts. I just did it. I put them in an oven at 190 degrees for 24 hours. They came out great and feel very firm but still have a some rubberiness to them. I dont see why not to do it. It looks good if you smooth it out with a putty knife. It is alot easier to install (I heard pressing in new mounts is a pain). And it is a lot cheaper with the same benefits and probably less vibration. I say probably because my car is still apart waiting for a new turbo.

So, Can u guys tell me how do u feel the ride in a scale from 1 to 10?
when 1 is shitty and 10 is like heaven?

I am thinking to get it because i am not having a smoth ride, neither a smoth shift. Got to be something related to the mounts.

Even though my ride shake a lot at low idle, so i won't care that it shakes a little bit more. :D

thanks
tito.
