does anyone know how many hp eclipse can have ??????? anybody heard of a 1000hp eclipse or something im just wondering if eclipse could be so fast :dsm: :dsm: :dsm: :dsm: :dsm: :dsm: :dsm: :dsm: :dsm: :dsm:
 
if i had it to do all over again i would have held out for the 2g gsx
instead i got the cheaper 420a and put a hahn kit on it

so now completely rebuilt engine, stage 3 clutch etc etc check my mods
and bout 15k after all the labor charges and i get 250hp hp the wheel at 9psi

can it be faster yes
will it take more money

the 420a is a nice N/A motor to build. There are a lot of options you can go with without having to go turbo. I ran last year with a plymouth breeze, 2.0 SOHC, same block just a single cam head, and with only 130 hp at the crank, I had some fun burnin rice, but getting burned just as often. Just remember, hp may be the same as in a honda, but chances are you killin em in torque numbers. There was a neon with us one night with cams, 2.5" exhaust header back, 60mm tb, CAI, and under drive pulleys and I believe he was runing low 15's. Not bad when ya really think about it. Thank god I sold my breeze and bought my talon tho, won't even bother with those rust bucket rice burners that always came out with us last summer....

When I had my 2gnt I had I/H/E/60MM/TB/UDP,high flow cat ;) , and P & P my intake manny,Prothane Motor mounts,sportlines,Kyb agx, and i got 16.3 on my Gtech.if those mods were on a neon,they would be runnin mid-to high 15's.As far as tourqe goes,yeah we do have the tourqe edge on the hondas,but their Lighter and have more hp so that evens em out i think.from what I know the 4g63 is good to 400 hp with stock bottomend,after that it gets expensive and it will just get as fast as it get really expensive. I understand people don't wanna give up un their 420 a's.Ive been there,I was one of them,and if I had the money I would go all motor and keep it steetable,just to see how far i could take it.I imagine with some good cams and porting,High compression pistons you might be able to see around 170 whp.but fact of the matter is I don't have that money,I fell to the darkside and got me a 1g tsi awd and if I put the same time and money that i did to my 2gnt I will probably be running mid 13's by now.Could you resist that?I couldn't so here i am,starting at step1 all over again like alot of people did when they bouth their N/A's.just my .02 i'm getting sidetracked so i'll stop now.
