MOMO shift knob fitment

I have a 100 dollar gift certificate for amazon.com that I want to spend and all they have is body kits and knobs. Soooooo, now is my chance to pick up a momo knob I want to get the MOMO Tomahawk but I was wondering if these fit on those ebay B&M knock-off short shifters. Yes, ive searched nad havent come up with anything. Thanx

I had the Momo Race Airleather shift knob. It was not a screw down type, it instead has three little screws around the base that you srew in with an allen wrench and it grips/digs into the top of your shifter shaft and holds the knob in place. I liked the look and feel of the momo one I had...but I didn't like this arrangement. The screws came loose all the time and eventually the threads on them were ruined and it wouldn't latch tight at all.
So I got a greddy counterweight.
Basically, because of their design it should fit onto anything (if the one you are looking at latches on the same way) but it didn't work out that well with me. I still have it in the trunk of the car and since you live so close, shoot me a pm and I'll meet you somewhere and show you what I'm talking about.

Most Momo knobs use the 3 allen set screws so they are universal. They will work with whatever shifter you have.

Since when does amazon.com sell car stuff and not books?

yeah Amazon sells car stuff now. The Tomahawk version doesn't look like it does have screws and allen heads so im not sure. KPW, are you going to be at the March 6th track meet or the GMU meet, I could take a look at it then. Thanx a lot.

I *_believe_* that on this particular MOMO knob, what happens is that you unscrew the bottom portion (base), slip that over the shaft, then install the knob (via set screws and rubber adaptor), and then thread the base onto the knob main body for a cosmetic finish.

My Competition knob certainly fit on in this manner.

The trick to not have troubles with the knob itself shifting/moving around is two-fold.

First, be sure that adaptor (part "C" in the instruction diagram) is a good fit for the shaft of your shifter.

Second, don't be afraid to tighten down the set-screws -- but be sure not to cross-thread (as, remember, the knobs are aluminum in material, and thus rather soft!).

I've got absolutely no play on mine, and I've had my MOMO knob for about 7 years now.
