I have a 90 eagle talon tsi awd 2.0 turbo that i modified for rally cross.

It has a full roll cage, master kill switch, boost gauge, 3" cat back exhaust straight from the mani, upper i/c pipe with greddy bov.

My question is, i have the car breathing well now, what do i do next? I didn't list my suspension or braking mods as they are alll tuned, but the engine needs to be reliable and powerful at the same time.

Rally races involve alot of endurance and any modifications to the engine that i would consider would have to be low risk.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Next would be a better IC - either an upgraded SMIC or a FMIC... and fuel upgrades are a must... I'd start off with a fuel pump (walbro 255) and a AFPR... You might also want to check out the upgrade outline that is on here... :thumb:

... Please people start reading the site upgrade list!

As far as your car goes if it's short rally's you want a very quick spooling turbo and a dam good frontmount or smic with ic sprayers.
Consider porting your 14b and changing to a 2g manifold then go ahead and get a pump and injectors. By then you will be ready to upgrade your ic.

Goodluck.

haha. yeah i did read the list, but i figured since i wasn't street or drag oriented that i would ask first. I did search and i must say, this site has a plethora of info. Its amazing.

Anyway, i've already orderd an EGT and A/F gauge and a pocketlogger. This is my first DSM but i'm certainly getting the hang of it. Great engine IMO.

Would porting make the turbo spool quicker? I'm definately going to the scrap yard soon to get a 2g Manifold. Any suggestions against/for that?

You won't be needing an A/F gauge if you bought a EGT + Logger because they together (or the logger by itself) will tell you if your running rich or lean according to your o2 readings.

Depending on how much the junkyard wants for a 2g manifold I would check with slowboyracing/forced performance/any other vendor we have for a ""pre-ported 2g manifold"" that way you know it was ported really well by a good company (not saying you cant get someone to port it tho). Other things you could do is get that turbo ported mildly to help with the exhaust flow.
