I have been reading more and more about making a lowered 1g handle better. I stumbled on an article on Motoiq.com about the sentra suspension and it is set up like the 1g.
They replaced the lower ball joint with a spherical bearing that they welded 3" lower onto the control arm.

I am not sure if this has been done on a 1g before i know from my reading i havent seen it.
They also replaced the tie rod end with another spherical bearing and flipped it over so the bump steer would be corrected.
They plan to lower the car about 3-4" total.
I am hoping to get some feed back, and i would really like to start this project on my own 1g i have a friend who worked for a chassis shop and can weld anything i need.
