MMCd custom sensors

Does anyone know if you can get a logger to monitor vehicle speed. i just want to be able to know my zero to sixty times when at the strip, when i dont have time to work a stopwatch. there is a place to input custom sensor, can this be accessed through this feature?

no 1g dsm can do that.the speedo is mechanical,so the ecu has no clue how fast your going.vss will work on a 2g though.

The VSS in the car isn't accurate enough to do the type of calculations your looking for.

It's good enough for the ECU to tell that the car is moving and for the cruise to know when the speed drops below 25 MPH but not good enough to compute zero to sixty times.

The way the 1G datalogger interface works locations from 0-3D are remapped using the datalogger table in the code. Locations from 40 to F0 return the contents of that memory address except for CA which clears any stored error codes. F1 to FF are commands.

So to look at the VSS you would enter a custom sensor for C4 (the address in memory of the VSS variable). The value of the VSS variable isn't MPH so you then have to convert the output to some more readable. The values for VSS start out at FF and go down as the car speeds up.
