mitsu oil filters

I dont know if anyone has had this problem or if it is just my freak problem...TWICE....Ok I have had two mitsubishi oil filters in my car in the last three years....and both of them have backed off and near fell off.....caught them both times, but it made a mess....No other oil filter has done this on the car and I was wondering whats up with them....Maybe it was just a dumb coincedence with me

I had mitsu filters on my 95 gst and that never happened to me. make sure you screw thm in so that its tight.

Funny - I only had this "back-off" problem with NON-Mitsu Oil Filters until I canned my Water to Oil Cooler.

yup they were tight.....I solved the problem with a bit of thread lock, but still it was kinda annoying and did make a mess.....

thats funny because i have to BARELY screw on my oil filter or its a real pain in the ass to get off. last oil change i had to use a big pair of channel locks to remove my filter. and it was only hand tight when insatlled. its a mobile 1 if that make s any diference.

did you lube the ring around the filter before you put it on? I always put mine on hand tight and I end up having to use the channel locks to rip that shit off.

I always bend the shit out of the filter when it's getting removed.

I just changed mine, had the new "small" type filter on it. Went on hand tight, came off the same way.

Screw driver threw the old oil filter that gets it off but does make a mess.

yes the ring was oiled.....I know how to change oil....and no the thread lock came in no contact with the oil....again I know how to use it.....I was just curious if maybe I got a couple of bad filters, if anyone else had it happen....I am changing my oil soon and am considering trying one again

Screw the Mitsu- filter anyways. Go with a K&N filter they have a higher micron seperating system in them which ensures cleaner oil..and put some royal purple oil too
