so please could someone help me :D

have you checked your base timing?

also, when you say it's only when you shift gears (letting off the gas)? could be fuel related, like a FPR or something like that.

Spark related, you replaced the spark plugs and coilpack but there's also the ignition wires and power transistor that it could be.

I am in search of an answer to a similar problem and maybe between the two of us we can provide enough information to get at least one of our problems resolved if they turn out to be different. I have a 2G '95 Talon TSIAWD. My problem is also misfire. My misfire usually shows up in the 2.5k to 3.5k RPM band. It might be just one miss or a series of them. It is also usually load related. I can soft foot the accelerater and get around it. But I can't always drive like Granny. It doesn't take much load for it to happen. Does yours happen at all times or is yours related to throttle position and acceleration also? Like you, I changed all the obvious things with premium replacements: NGK iridium plugs, NGK 8mm wires, new coil packs. I seperated the wires where they are spaced at least a 1/4" apart at all areas to prevent crossfire. Nothing has worked. I was in the slow lane on the interstate in hi gear and saw a spot to get into the fast lane. When I got my chance I just mashed it to the floor and expected the usual instant acceleration. About the time the boost peaked a single misfire ocurred. The problem had just started and I wasn't expecting it nor was I prepared for it. The result was disaster; the misfire at full boost stripped 5th gear. After repairing the tranny (myself) I decided to seek pro help. The Chrysler dealer told me they were no longer supporting DSM and the Mitsubishi dealer said the wire coloring was different from the Eclipse, go away. After talking to several independents, I took it a reputable shop and was told the waste gate was stuck and not closing completely and it was causing the rev limiter to kick in because the engine was seeing to much air for the RPM. He wanted to install a new turbo. I did some checking and could get a Big16G and put it in myself for about 1/4 of what he wanted to do the job for. After I pulled my old turbo, I came to the conclusion that the guy was checking the waste gate with vacuum instead of pressure. Since I had already purchased the turbo, I decided to go ahead with the install. It was difficult to pipe the air, water, and oil but it turned out great. The turbo did not change a thing as far as the problem goes however, and saddled me with a ton of lag. The crank pulley bolt has since backed out ant took out the crank position sensor. I thought, aha, that has got to be it! Put the new one in and still no change. I have since replaced the MAP sensor and the purge valve because of codes. Nothing has changed. I would like to disable the rev limiter to see if that is indeed where the misfire is coming from. I have been searching for the way do that for some time to no avail. I bought my car new and love it. It is a high milage car and I have personally maintained it myself since new. I have replaced the timing belts every 60k miles and am coming up on the 240k replacement. If I cannot fix this problem by then I am just going to give up and sell it. Sorry for the length of this post but I just wanted to be more detailed about the problem and also warn of the potential danger of the misfire on a turbo car.
