Milage Question

Hey guys and girls....


I have a 90 plymouth laser 1.8. I love this car. BUT...it reads for 225,000 that is a lot of milage. I only paid 100.00 for the car. Is it worht putting money into.

depends what is wrong with it... something simple? fix it. would i spend more getting the car running then it's worth? probably not.

hell if you only paid 100 bucks for it, part it out and make your money back.

I had a 93 N/T manual, got it for $900 and it had 180k miles on it. It was a great car, untill I sold it to a friend for $600 and he kept grinding the gears and messed the whole motor up somehow. If I were you I would keep it as a beater if it's running fine! But if you're wanting to put some money into the motor, that would be iffy... just because how many miles is on it, I would say if you keep it stock it would be fine. It also matters how hard the old owners have ran it.

I have another whol motor setting and waiting on it...but im talking about milage over the whole car in general. axles....etc would it be worth putting money into. I dont have much. so i cant just go out and get a whol new car. I have no credit..so i would be happy fixing up what i have...but like i said..would it be worth it?

If you know how to check to see if axle's, boots, tie rods, ball joints, and all that stuff is good... then go ahead and do it. If not, take it to a tire place and have them check it out. Don't have them replace anything, make them show you what's worn on it. If you can do the work yourself, you'll save yourself alot of money.
