midrange throttle & cold start problems on 6-bolt swap

Hey-

I have a cold start problem on my new 6-bolt. It will start right up, but then it will start to sputter and die. The only way I can keep it running is to tap the gas. Once its warmed up, it idles at 750 rpm and will start right up when its shut off.

Also, once its warmed up, it sputters at midrange throttle from about 1000-4500 rpms and it seems to have slow throttle response.

Info:
built 6-bolt with 0 miles
Evo III 16g with 0 miles
93-94 CAS
Base timing is 5*
all emissions removed except for the FPR
EGR valve is still in place, but everything is capped on it

I did a boost leak test and had none.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Also, I rewired the injectors like the magnus swap list suggests and have no CEL codes.

The car has new plugs gapped to .028 and new wires as well.

Just checked the coolent temp sensors...Temps look normal on both the logger, and the gauge in the gauge cluster. What else would cause this problem?
