ok guysjust finished swap and when i turn the key i get nothing starter is hook up correctly and i got a new battery is the starter just junk or is there some kind of ground issure i may be having. any help will help has anyone else had this problem?

The easiest thing to do is take out your starter and take to a parts store that can test it for you. Once you are sure the starter is good, it's easier to troubleshoot for other problems. Bad power wire is a common failure and is cheap to fix. I paid about $6 for one a couple months ago.

There is no ground wire to the starter. It's grounded through the mount and bolts. As long as your other ground wires are in good shape, grounding shouldn't be an issue.

i have a ground to the starter as we speak it looks like its suppose to be there but if not where does tha ground go?

I just had the same problem with my 6-bolt swap. Make sure that the ground that goes to the starter is connected to one of the 2 mounting bolt the run through the transaxle bell housing to the starter. And that the little wire coming off the wireharness near the positive wire for the starter is connected to the rear of the starter (on the block side). That fixed my problem. :thumb:

ok got started to turn over a couple times now its osunds like its frinding and the cranking got slower and slower now no cranking is my battery just to weak at this point from trying to crank it over soo much

My battery was hatin' life after I cranked it for 3 weeks trying to get mine to start (finally got her started today after fixing all the bugs!!) I would put your battery on a charger for the night.

After awhile we started to keep the battery hooked up either my charger or my brothers car when we were diagnosing problems. Cranking definately takes it's toll on a battery.
