I have a 97 Spyder GST and I was wondering if I could run Mid Grade Gas or can I only run Premium (93 octane)?

your complaining about using 93!!!!! steve can you beleive that someone would not want to use 93!!! go ahead and use 91 if you want, but then you might as well subject yourself to smog and cali registration fees.

Those damn rednecks get 94 octane! I hate California

knaackers just incase you can't tell from our sarcastic humor the answer to your question is yes, yes you COULD use mid grade gas. but I do not see any reason at all why you would want to. The ten cents or whatever it is change that you would save on each gallon would be offset by the poor performance, shitty gas milleage, and overall piss quality of 91 octane. I don't know how much it is around your parts but I would be more than happy to use 93(or even 94 ocatane OMG ) gas in my car instead of paying 2.50$ a gallon for 91 cause that's the best we can get out here.

shoot 2.50 for lousy 91 oct, and thats are only choise, man cali does sucks. i mean besides the beautiful girls, the excellent weather, and the bombass scenery, this place sucks.

The grade of gas varies.

Here it is....

89 cheap shit
91 kinda shit
93 good enough
94 sunoco most likely and about .20 a gallon more.

As for the octane and quality. Well you can run it, but it is not suggested. My sig has a dyno run, but it is a long story about that. The dyno that day was for a little amusement with myself. To see if I could tune a car on my own with crappy gas. It worked, but will never happen again. As soon as I get back to the dyno those numbers will be erased and new ones with 94 oct will take its place. OMG

You can do whatever you want. The elctronics in the car will keep it from hurting itself. One of the evils of owning a performance oriented car is having to some thing you may not want to do, like buy the expensive gas.

Less performance and save 2 bucks here and there or drive the car in the manner intended and spend a buck or two. Its your call.
