I'm all for changing the usual Tropical Park. It's really hot out there anyway. We normally get cars parked around tree's for shade LOL.

How is parking there? Assuming we'd have ,say, 20 something cars. I'm definitely down for a South Beach cruise as well!

What you guys think, any other suggestions? I'm liking this change.

There is plenty of parking there, unless one of the big grove festivals is going on (i.e. Arts festival, etc).

SEE THE PIC BELOW. Everyone should know or can find the Coconut Grove area. Once on So. Bayshore Drive and heading north, make your very first right AFTER you pass SW 27 Avenue. Making that right takes you on to Pan American Drive and the parking areas are right there.

"Alternate 2" might be a better spot to gather but I have to check and make sure access to it is not "chained off". Alternate 2 fronts directly So. Bayshore for more visibility and cars to see driving by, etc. BUT it has no trees to provide us shade whereas the section I marked as "DSM meet location" and Alternate 3 both have plenty of trees for shade. Either way all of these are within 100 yards of each other so we can play it by ear and regardless people will see the group gathered at one of the three.

Scotty's Landing has a waterfront restaurant and bar too.

I live not even 5 minutes from there so i'll go check out the lots this week and see if they are closed off or if they ask for $.

Someone remind me if I forget.

Because if we did that, people would start showing up//wouldn't get a full attendance till at like 5 or 6. 12PM is good because by the time it's already 2 or 3, mostly everybody (late people) has arrived by the time and we can go for our cruise at 3PMish. and to be honest, I'd rather be home by like 6-7ish.

I like cruising around the beach area and stuff mid-day. Just imo.

But yeah seriously, it'd be nice if most of us was there by 12pm. If you have to, pretend like the meet is at 11am or 10:30am. So by the time you you actually arrive it's 12.

I don't want to hear "Oh it's Sunday I like to sleep in". Well, this happens only ONCE a month on the very last Sunday. So if you can't give one Sunday up well... then gtfo, you really dont care about the Miami DSM scene. :p

Last thing that pisses me off to no end. And this goes to my really close friends as well. Don't call me and tell me "I'll go when the meet gets good" or "Call me when there is a decent amount of cars". I will, like last time, not even bother with you.

If you have that mentality, please don't show up to the meet.

On a positive note, we all obviously couldn't make the shoot out! SO LET'S MAKE THIS AS CLOSE TO IT AS POSSIBLE!!!

Everyone keep in mind this is the last month-end weekend before college and pro football crank up. Once they do, attendance will be harder to keep up unless on that given Sunday the Phins don't play or are playing at night.

So lets make this meet and the new venue a good one. I think we should make the group cruise as follows:

First we hit Key Biscayne - all the way to the Crandon Boat ramps, hang there for 20-30 minutes (there will be alot of hotties leaving or arriving back at the ramps on boats) or so and then go over to SoBe. What do you all think?

See you all next weekend!

where is the meet gonna be aug 28?

12 noon, north side of Dinner Key Auditorium in Coconut Grove:

That aint a problem we could always make a meet at flanigans or hooters LOL...

OK I checked out the Dinner Key area around mid-day yesterday (Sunday) - see my post a couple spots above with the pic.

Alternate 2 has high hedges now fronting So. Bayshore and may not be a good gathering spot - you cant see into or out of it almost at all. I didn't even drive into it to see if there is space because even if so, who wants to park surrounded by a high hedge?

Alternate 3 is being used as as an overflow parking lot for trucks launching boats at the boat ramp on the south side of the auditorium. There WAS space there however and this coming weekend now that school has started will mean less people out boating too so there should be even more space.

The main area marked as "DSM meet location" is substantially being used by the city of Miami to park city vehicles. There was space but not really in large enough groups for us all to park together.

There are signs along Pan American drive saying no parking but there is alot of room and since all the cars are going to be attended we could just start gathering up right there too. If the parking maids and/or cops tell us to move we can hjust move to Alt 2.

I also took a ride from Dinner Key over to Key Biscayne via So. Bayshore drive. Nice drive. We mght also be able to meet up in the coming months with less beach goers along Hobie Beach right on the Bay.

So, depending on the effects of Hurricane Irene it is still "ON" this coming Sunday at high noon at the new location.

Awesome, you're the man!!!!!!! There's a also a very sick spot to take pics by the mercy hospital:

Here is another great photo and maybe even meeting spot. This is on the southwest side of of the causeway leading to Miami Beach on Watson Island. Its over close to where the old Chalks seaplane base is. We can hit this spot on the drive over to Miami Beach and perhaps do the next meet (end of September) here if people like it:

A bunch of DSMs with the downtown Miami skyline as a backdrop would be bad ass.
