Yeh, I just looked at the forecast =/. 40% chance of thunderstorms starting around 1pm.. how convenient :(.

Hi
I am new to the forum , but not new to dsm, I am from Argentina living in brasil and visiting my parents in Miami, i would like to go to the meeting. I have a gsx 95 in brasil and i am looking for some parts for it.
thanks,
Max.

I'll be bringing two 30PSI boost/vacuum gauges for sale.

1 Autometer Sport Comp $30
1 Glow Shift Boost Gauge $25

Worried about the rain chance and BBQ-ing...... There's always McDonalds if its bad.

true that. my car is done just getting it tuned now see u guys tomorrow

Can one of you guys thats already somewhat near the meet give a weather update tomorrow morning before they leave? I hope it doesnt rain, but if it does, it'll save me an hour trip.

You can also check the radar in real time just before you leave:

NWS radar image loop of Composite Reflectivity from Miami, FL

I see the weather front up in Georgia. I do alot of boating and I think the weather may not be coming through here until LATE in the day.

Anyone wants a real time report around 10:00 AM send me a PM with your #, I'll call you then.

As far as cruise route and destination here's what I was thinking:

Tropical Park ---->826 Palmetto xway north------>836 West------->exit at Biscayne Blvd like if going to AA Arena----->Biscayne Blvd south to Brickell Avenue then to Rickenbacker Causeway and end up at Hobie Beach on Key Biscayne. Everyone disperses from there.

I'm leery about So. Beach because the winter music festival is running and the Miami Beach cops will have an even larger wild hair up their azz than usual & there is no end point there with enough parking for all of us.

What do you all think?

I actually think this sounds like a plan, unless someone is against this idea. If not I'm all for it as our route to go.

Rain, Sleet, Hurricane, Or Snow, I'll be there. The cruise is one of the main things I'm looking forward too. If all goes bad, we can just meet up for the cruise if the weather is bad.

Guys, the meet is still ON but due to the threat of inclement weather I am NOT going to bring the BBQ. I've tried tailgating and BBQing at football games during rainy days and its a PITA. There is a McDonald's directly across the street though. Sorry!

There is a weather front pushing down from the north with lots of rain in it and as of this moment (7:30 AM ish) the southern edge of it is at Sebring, just to the north of Lake Okeechobee. Check out the Melbourne Florida radar to our north:

NWS radar image from Melbourne, FL

Unfortunately this is whats coming.....

Sebring is about 138 miles from the meet location. The front looks to be moving south fast at close to 20 MPH. That puts it reaching the meet location about 2:00PM with some effects likely sooner than that. Try to get there by noon-ish instead of 1:00 PM if you can. This will probably shitcan the plans for a group cruise....

Hmm, Id really like to meet up with all you guys, but driving an hour and a half south to only to get rained out doesnt sound like the best idea right now...I dont feel like driving back home from that far south in the pouring rain either LOL, 3 hours round trip of driving in the rain, no thanks. Ill check the weather again in about a half hour and see how it is. If it looks risky, I may just stay home. Sorry guys. I have a feeling if it doesnt happen today, the meet that eventually will happen will be even better!

Let me just say, that today's meet went extremely, extremely well. And the cruise afterwards was completely awesome. Hearing nothing but DSMs cruising down the road together is probably the best thing I've heard driving down any street. The turn out was amazing even though it was raining! Granted, the rain was stop and go, even poured for like 5 minutes! Then all went away and was left with a sunny day.

So many more DSM's could have been there, but the rain scared quite a few people, but we still got a phenomenal turn out.

We are having a meet, again a month from now. We want it to be even BIGGER then what it was today. April 26, 2009. 1PM time, but try to be there at 12pm. Same spot. The first meet we had, was big. This meet was even bigger. Now let the next meet coming up be 4 times bigger then it was today.

I'd like to go ahead and thank everyone who showed up today. Everyone was cool, and no trouble was caused. We all had a blast.

Special thanks goes to SeaveeDSM for all the hard work he has done from bringing in equipment, all the way to ordering pizza for us. This guy has tremendous dedication to his DSM, helps a lot of people out, and is over all a great person, and we are lucky to have a person like him in our DSM community. Again, thanks to Seavee for all that he's done.

Other then that, next months meet should be awesome. Mark it off your Calenders guys! April 26th!

Will upload pics in a few.

Didn't take too many pictures. But I know I saw a lot of cameras (good ones too), so I'm expecting to see a lot of good pics/video posts.

You have a PM:thumb:

Looks like the meet turned out really well! Sorry I missed it guys, just didnt want to chance a days worth of driving and end up not seeing any DSMs. If I were more down south I wouldve made it. But I will be at the April meet FOR SURE!

*Sigh* I'm definitely not looking forward to see pics of my old dsm at all.....:sosad::coy::(

Glad you guys had a great time btw. And DSMj89 thanks for texting me those pics of my old car, it broke my heart. :sosad:

Lol sorry but i had to ricky, next time don't sell a clean car. :p

Meet was great, i will post up pics i took tomorrow, tooo tired right now.
Can't wait for the april meet, i'll have my dsm out by then and hopefully it'll be even bigger this time.

Was a good turnout despite the weather.

Thanks for the kind words Chris. BTW, a few others chipped in for the pizza as well and also bought some sodas (Lucas, Angelo, etc.)

Most at the meet met that guy Michael with the 2G GST convertible that was in pretty rough shape.... I talked to him last night and told him I'd post here and at the TALK forums to try to find someone who can help him. See threads below:

http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/new...p-west-palm-beach-broward-county-fl-area.html

A basically identical post over at TALK:
Recommend a good DSM mechanic/shop in West Palm Beach FL area? - DSM Forums: Mitsubishi Eclipse, Plymouth Laser, and Eagle Talon Forum: DSMtalk.com

Also forgot to mention my friend on the pics that chris posted, the green gst with the black rear 2gb rear bumper works at a race shop and they do professional work as well.
Pm me for number if anyone needs a REAL GOOD race shop mechanic.

And here are the pics as i promised.
Sorry for the bad quality, they were taken from my phone.

:hellyeah:we need to do a meet at county line dragway!!:rocks: show em boys what 4g63's are capable of

Yeah, we're going to need a much bigger count if we're to get a official DSM day at County Line Dragway.

The manager roughly expects over 60+ cars so that we may have a full dedicated day for us. So for next month, we'd want to try and get every possible DSM we can so we can have good proof to show to him that there are actually quite a bit of DSM's in Miami to make a shootout at the track.

Not just for the future event. But can you imagine more then 30+ DSM's at next months meet? Thats a lot of DSM's. Cruising with numbers that big would be hella fun.

What I'll be doing is printing out flyer meets for the 26th of April and put it on every random DSM I see parked or any DSM owner. The more DSMs we can get out there, the better. I know a lot of people could have showed to the last meet, but rain was a problem, and we STILL had a awesome turn out.

So lets make this one even better.

if you make flyers shoot some my way and i can put them on some cars up in my area... i see a couple at the gym every now and then and some at my school
