I have been building my car since December and have got a solid proficient set-up right now. Just got Speed Density and have to tune. I also have a Fluidyne radiator on the way for cooling purposes. So besides doing the bottom end which is not needed at this time I would like some opinions on which part to buy next. Basically which one is going to provide me with better power.

I have the 274 Graveyard custom re-grind camshafts with a built head minus a port and polish which is coming this winter. Running the evoIII 16G turbo and have all supporting mods. So I already sacrificed some low end power for the aggresive duration of my camshafts, 4500 RPM is when she rockets all the way up and I mean rockets. So would I benefit more from a street/strip manifold or puting in Meth injection and tune the heck out of it to get maximum power with timing.

This is my daily driver and I usually get 26-27 MPG through the city and around 33-35 MPG on the Autostrada our thruway in Italy. Hoping to get more once I dial in the Speed Density set-up. I look forward to hearing results from people who have added these parts to there car's.

If it's more of a street car I would go with the intake manifold..If it were a stictly strip car, or strictly power car I might go with injection..But since you drive the car all the time..I think the intake might be the best thing for you at the moment..

Cause your not going to be using the injection all the time..As you would be using the intake all the time..So that's what I would go with..

I'd go for the smim. It will deliver its moneys worth 100% of the time you are using it, its install and forget. The meth injection will only do its thing when its actually being sprayed, and it has the possibility to go run out, go dry and cause engine damage.

I personally say methanol over the smim. I am not sure about the quality of gas you have over there in Europe but for me in California we have 91 octane. On just 91 octane I can only run about 19-22psi if that on a hx40 with moderate timing. But with methanol I am able to tune and run 34psi. Its a night and day difference that you can definitely feel.

I feel that you will gain more power running higher boost levels then swapping out the intake manifold for a sheet metal one, especially if your no where close to maxing out your stock intake.

But with the smim you will also be loosing some lower end, so it's not quite deliver 100% its moneys worth all the time. Since you are sacrificing a bit. As for the methanol, it sprays when you decided to go WOT allowing you to keep your low end power yet be able to run higher boost settings safely. It is possible to run empty but only if you neglect your car and never check it.

I say get both :p

The highest octane gas I can get here is called superblu 98 it is roughly a 95 octane rating. Currently I am running 21lbs of boost. I do plan on buying both just I would like to purchase one now and the other will have to wait until December of this year. I will have to run windshield washer fluid for my meth because I can't have it shipped here and can't find anywhere that sells it.

Do they not sell denatured alcohol either? They usually sell it in the paint section?

Yes they do but for roughly $30 american dollars a liter. It is expensive to live here but this is where the Army put me. I can not remember which moderator I talked to but he was running windshield washer fluid and said it worked quite well for him. The positive side for that is I can buy it on post for $1.39 a gallon can not really beat the price comparison.

As long as you have a decent turbo that has more flow in it then i'm voting for the water injection. like most have said, it will allow more boost/airflow on all gaolines giving more power through the whole boost curve while not sacrificing the low end that the SMIM will give up

If you're running an evo3, it's really a tossup. You'll gain some upper RPM power by swapping over to a SMIM, but you'll gain more powerband timing (and thereby full powerband power increase) by doing the meth injection.

If you were on a larger turbo, I'd definitely say SMIM over meth injection. You would probably see equivalent "area under the curve" power increase from either modification.

The difference is, a methanol kit will last no matter what future mods you add to the car, you just have to add more nozzles. A SMIM may need to be changed later if you need a larger plenum volume / better runner design.

I believe I am gonna run the Methanol set-up the Devils Own stage 1 kit. Due to the fact that I am making pretty good MPG and this is before going S.D and I keep my solid powerband down low for my city driving for now. So my last question would be when I run this kit do I need to upgrade my injectors or should I be alright with the F.I.C 650 I am running now?

You should be fine with the 650's. I noticed with my setup that I had to lean out my fuel sliders quite a bit when methanol was activated. Thus giving me more room for injector duty cycle.
