Who sells the metal sleeved TOB?
I am tired of replacing the Mitsu/NSK plastic one. Who here has used the metal one and gotten good results? The plastic ones are junk. They separate. :notgood: My first one went with 60,000 miles on it. That wasn't too bad, but the new oem one I just put in 6,000 miles ago already went bad. I posted a thread after the first one went with pics. Check it out to see what I mean.

I just replaced a metal sleeved one with a new mitsu plastic sleeved unit. No miles yet but I can tell you that metal sleeved unit wore the crap out of the shaft it rides on.

That seems to be the general consensus. They both suck!
Why can't someone make them a bit more heavy duty so they don't split and last the life of the clutch? I'm ready to fix the bearing and sell the car.

Well I will say this, I HATE THE METAL ONES! One has costed me a Tranny, b/c it split and dug into and broke the shaft it rides on. I am currently still using a metal one b/c thats what comes with the Clutch Kit from Advance Auto. I would much rather replace T.O. bearing every now and then. Than buy a new tranny.

i'm about to drop my trans to replace another, i had bad luck with the metal one, that one went bad and dug into my imput shaft. The plastic ONES last me longer and the metal, so I'm going plastic again. my current one last me lil over a year, so thats not too bad

I think when I get the new one in a couple days I will braze or tack weld the seem together where it always separates. I think I remember it having like 8-12 tabs that connects it together. I will try to make it one piece so it doesn't fall apart. I'll post back here exactly what I mean when i get the new one.
