MegaSquirt - 3 second prime pulse?

Not really sure whats causing this. My prime pulse on first turning the key on lasts for about 3 seconds, no matter what temperature. I figured this was because when I first turn the key on the sensors read -40 before reading the real value, so even at -40F there is only supposed to be a 6ms prime pulse, tapering down with temperature. Is there something wrong here or is that normal? The pump sounds like its priming way too long, longer than the stock prime.

All of mine have done that. I beleived that was normal.

Really? I figured priming the pump for that long wouldnt be all that good. A few times while the pump was priming it made a noise like a dying dinosaur, so I thought maybe it was turning the pump on for too long. As long as its normal and not going to damage anything, I guess thats ok.

Also, thanks to whoever edited my title, it was kind of late last night and I didnt really read over it.

Yea, it's normal. MS reads the CLT sensor before injecting what ever value you had. If you look at TS you should be able to see the gauge jump to whatever PW you have for a brief second, if that doesn't work you should see it in the logs.
