MBC worth using on a T25?

If I install an MBC (and 1G BOV) on an otherwise stock 2G GS-T, and set the boost at 15psi, am I really going to *feel* any difference?

I don't mean a "well, kinda felt better, maybe a bit" kinda difference, I mean will I definately feel it pull harder? Has anyone done this and gone "whoa!" afterwards?

I don't drag it, so I don't care if it measures .1 seconds quicker in the quarter. I'd only do it if I can feel an obvious difference during my daily commute.

So... is an MBC worth it right now?

BTW: I pulled the BCS restriction out, and didn't notice a thing, so either the stock 2G BOV is leaking the extra psi, or the couple extra psi just isn't noticable. I fear the same result from an MBC, since I read that I can't safely go past 15psi on stock injectors/pump. But 15psi = +4psi = +28hp, right? I mean, ya GOTTA feel that, yes?

You don't have to adjust the boost up more to feel it trust me. I didn't feel much diff when I went from 15psi - 17psi then back to 15 because I didn't notice anything. I personally think the things you will notice a Night/Day difference will be like um...

IC Pipe (with bov upgrade)
Turboback exhaust (I noticed this quick!)

Most 2G's are around 11-13psi stock, if the CBV is not leaking. What's you boost gauge reading right now? If its at 11psi stock, and you crank it to 15psi ( max ) you will notice a difference. Timing is just as important as boost. Got a logger? Find out what you peak timing is. It should be around 17-19 degree's peak ( end of a run, or at the top of the RPM range ). If it's not, then you probably have knock, which is killing the power potential.

There is no specific Xpsi = X horsepower. A 50 trim turbo ( RS49 for example ) would put more power down at 15psi because of a more efficient compressor wheel ( which yeilds a cooler and more dense charge ). That T25 is blowing hot air pretty much all the time. Its max efficiency is around 15psi, where it *can* pump out 250cfm's. Our motors can flow alot more than that, especially at higher RPM's. That's why the T25 drops boost, it just can't flow as much as the engine wants.

Set the boost at where ever you get the highest peak timing ( at or below 15psi for the T25 ). Timing is power!!!

Thanks Groomz! Well, that's a YES vote, a NO, and a MAYBE, LOL.

No, I don't have a logger or boost gauge. Don't have anything, LOL - hence my debate: whether to dump my first spending spree on a suspension (Tein Basics), or the whole MBC/gauge/BOV/UICP route. I don't plan to swap the T25 out until I have to, so if the MBC is a waste on it, I'd wait and go with the suspension.

Decisions, decisions...

Do the Suspension later!!!!! Go for the Boost gauge, piller pod, UICP, 1G BOV and home made MBC, I'll even show you how to make a MBC just like mine. Plus I have an extra 1G BOV to sell also.. The MBC can be made from parts found at a local Hardware store for under $12..

PM me and we can set up something.
