MBC and Boost Gauge ?'s

just a quick question.....installed my MBC which is a turbosmart gated boost control that is made to be mounted in cabin, along with my boost gauge. now my question.....is it normal to have my gauge go up to 14-15psi at first when i have it at full throttle then drop down to the normal 11-12psi i have it set at shortly after? what causes this? is it bad? and if so what can be done to prevent this?

You're experiencing a boost spike. The wastegate doesn't open fast enough when it sees boost so it will spike a few psi before settling back down. While the in-cabin system is a nice thing, chances are that the lines are too long which is why you're experiencing this boost spike. Relocate the MBC to the engine bay, shorten out those lines and your problems should go away.

hey thanks alot. i guess if i would have known that then i wouldnt have bought the in-cabin one. oh well should work the same outside the cabin right?

Yeah, just ziptie it to a coolant hose or something. Once you have your boost dialed in, you never really have to mess with it anyway.
