okay so i got a white smoke coming out the exhaust, bust its pretty cold here in boston, im running rich, no more coolant leaks but the reservoir is bubbling like crazy sometimes, and some comes out from the overflow tube sometimes, i just had to put a half a gallon of antifreeze in today, and also when i came to a stop, in drive i noticed about -7 of vacum and it stalled out twice, but i will do a boost leak test this weekend but im not sure on the headgasket, how long does it take to do one?

is the car overheating? have you done a compression test for each cylinder.bubbling coolant resevior sounds like over heating to me. changing a head gasket is not a real big deal as long as your firmiliar with the engine' shouldn't really take any longer than 3 hours but it can get expensive real quick sometimes.with the car over heating (maybe i don't know if it has)you should take the head and have it checked out for warpage they usually are warped so it will have to be shaved down flat again, the valves will come out so you may as well put new valve guides in. more than $200 for all work is too much once this is all done and good,it shouldn't take but a few hrs to be back on the road strong.(as long as you know how to put a head on.)

Another quick thing to check to make sure its blown, is check the oil cap for a Milk Shake white foam. I replaced my headgasket in 4 hours, then agian I was yapping alot LOL, also while u replace it theres quite a bit u can do to the motor while replacing :)

its overheated numerous times, and this was for oring bad on waterpump, leaking from heater return hose, fixed all that and for the past 4 days good, then was driving to staples and i noticed the weird vacum which i know i have a leak somewere and then i got home to park, and the gauge climbed a bit so i shut it off and let the a/c fan cool it down, and i put a little bit of antifreeze in and turned it on, didnt overheat or anything again, but i left the cap open and i get little air bubbles, sometimes when i get to the shop i open the hood to check the reservoir and once or twice it was bubbling a bit, and i look under after an hour and see that some antifreeze has poured out from the overflow tube

let me run out and check, i always check my oil and its crystal clear

oil cap is just black and stinks of oil, checked the oil on the dipstick, crystal clear still and stinky, of course im using green antifreeze, but this stuff like glows, so im pretty sure it would be visible in the oil

yea, im not so worried of doing it, just the timing stuff is annoying, my friend at work did the timing belt 3 weekends ago, im hoping to do the hg this weekend at home

Not a headgasket??? my waterpump belt was really loose so it was slipping off the pulley, but my uncle tighetened it and we kept it running, no white smoke whatsoever???? it was weird, they let it run till hot, kept it the cap off to see how the antifreeze was, and then pressure chekced it quickly and it seemed fine, no bubbling but of course the belt is loose again and squeeking so when it does that the reservoir bubbles, even though this is a new pump for pd, i might do the pump again tomorrow, also boost leak test asap
