May meet for the bay: Dyno challenge!!!

Alright guys we are looking like we are going to have some problems, at the moment it appears that we have about 7 guys comming and 1 confirmed dyno and 1 maybe dyno. If I can't get enough people to fill more dyno spots then I am going to have to concel the meet. So I need to know if its going down or not.

well than sucks. how many spots do you need to fill?

Also a suggestion, the prices seem a little steep for the non turbo/stock psi guys. i know i wouldnt want to pay 80 bucks to just get a basline.

i wonder if you adjusted your prices a little more accordingly it might encourage more people to dyno. for example when i went to the DBtuned dyno meet, it was 40 bucks to dyno. no matter what you put down. what if you did 200hp and lower 40 bucks, 200-300hp $35, 300-400 $30 etc? or something along those lines.

i dont know what your shop usually runs dyno runs at or anything, or any of the other reasons why the prices are set the way they are. but its just a freindly sugestion.

I don't set the prices as I am not part of the shop. That's the way the were told to me by the people that run/own the shop. If you guys don't like it and I can't get people to dyno that's fine I don't have to put on this meet, I just need to know sooner rather than later if its going down or not.

Im sure Sean would have no problem with us hanging out in the parking lot here's the issue however. Sean as the owner of a business has a goal with his shop. Its to make it bigger, better and last but not least NOT CLOSE THE #### DOWN. Me reserving days out of his work schedule so that we can have a dyno day there is fine. When we all of a sudden cancel or noone shows up not only is it rude but its not fair to him. He takes the time out of his week to allow us to meet there when he could have other people scheduled where he would make money. A shop isn't free to operate, he has employees, overhead costs, rent etc....


Second as a friend of seans me asking him to do this and him having it as a favor to me looks bad on myself when I go back to him and tell him "oh, hey, sorry but uh.... well the bay area dsmers are too cheap to actually dyno so we are nto ahving it." Lastly having us meet there so that if people want to dyno they can is ludachris. So now I am supposed to ask him if he can just sit around all day and wait to see if one of you guys wants to dyno? I don't think so.

DSMers are flaky, cheap and not willing to do anything. Check out evo meets where 100+ people participate; same with honda. My .05 cents on this topic. well im my case im not scared or embarresed to dyno at all, its the fact that my 14b turned itself into an oil pump. otherwise i would have no problem going and getting a dyno done.

if this just doesnt happen then there is always ways to set up a BBQ meet or something. just everyone go hang out check out peoples cars eat and bs??

I 2nd that... This is nothing *new* I would say that's the majority of the bay area DSMers. There's only a handfull that actually particpate in any meet.

Seriously, a dyno is worth it, you get three runs, and you have a chance to have people who know what they are doing help you tune your car. lets make a list of people who have the balls to dyno, rather than people who want to sit around and watch me dyno.

We get 3 pulls or just one? i was under the impression that it was just a one pull see what your car made on its way there. If we get to do a pull, then tune, then a pull, then tune, then a final pull, with the help of sean tuning... thats a whole different story.

Man, i havent been following this thread much, i thought the meet was earlier today.....
Its next saturday aye, hmmm i have it off, but im supposed to be up in Chico, fishing. My car technically will be ready for the dyno though.

Damn id really like to go, but i wont know until later on in the week. If i did, hopefully id be paying in the $50-$40 range. If thats for 3 pulls, i might have to go fishing a little later.

It is indeed for three pulls. How much tunning your gonig to be able to do between pulls is another story but just like any other dyno day you get three pulls plus a printout that includes a widband afr readout.

Well I cancelled the meet. I can't just leave Sean hanging until the last minute and since I doubt(well I am pretty ####ing sure) that noone other than sinister and testical are actually going to dyno so I have to cancel it. The next mee will be late june and its going to be the stinson meet so plan now, hell don't plan I don't care no one can ruin that meet for me as driving there is 75% of the fun anyway.

Infineon 24th is going to be packed. I already know a bunch of cars going from another bay area forum + you guys (fastest dsm crowd haha) + rest of the people that waited 3weeks to go to the track. Long lines for sure plus the weather is going to be pretty hot. I'm still debating if I should go
