maxing boost gauge

i had a pte 50 tirm on the talon, that blew up about 1 month ago, every thing worked fine with that turbo. We bought a used pte 50 trim and put that on and now it just maxes out the boost gauge. Not sure how to check an external waste gate, but everything was working with the old turbo on.

you are not very precise in your description of what is happening? Are you useing a stock boost gauge i hope not. if not then you are maxing out a external boost gauge? If so what size gauge is it and whats it's max. Do you have it hooked up right? What are you using for a boost source?

ya sorry bro, 30 psi gauge ams boost controller, yes its hooked up right. One line is going to the external wastegate and the other is tapped into the bov line.

Check the lines coming off the boost controller. Those being lose will cause the problems your having.

you should have the lines for the MBC coming from the J-pipe or a charge pipe, not the BOV line.. And the boost gauge should be attached to an empty line on the intake manifold.. But if you are "peaking out" your boost gauge, then you got something terribly wrong.. 30 psi will send a rod flying right through the block of that motor...

Thats not hooked up right. Hook it up to the WG and to either the turbo or the j pipe. that may help

Yup.. If your wastegate actuator is not hooked up to a boost source, then it will spool until it blows..

Do you have the boost reference line running to the wrong port? There are 2 ports on an external gate. Running a line to the wrong port will seal the wastegate up and do exactly what you are describing.
