Hey guys,

Ive been shopping around and I really want this pioneer head unit
http://www.cardomain.com/item/PIODEHP5900IB?vq_id=none

I just wanted to make sure it will fit in my dash because Crutchfield says that this model will not fit due to depth issues.... Most other sites however (Circuit City, Cardomain, and a few others) state that the head unit will fit fine.

I really dont wanna buy the HU and have it be too big for the slot...

Thanks!

You can't find a DIN radio that won't fit a DSM. The space back there is huge. I don't know what's wrong with Crutchfield's lookups, but they're wrong. I went through the same mental anguish while my Dual deck was in the mail. And, the DSM radio mounts are ISO standard spacing.
Don't use the cage, screw the chassis in like it's meant to be.

But before you pop for that radio, check into what's out there with SD, USB, AUX and other options. I put this one in my Infiniti, and I can't fill a 2GB SD card with all the music I want to listen to.

awesome, thanks for the response man. :thumb:

I was looking at some sony and kenwood head units with USB inputs and I was thinking about plugging in a 30 gb external hard drive to it. The head units seem to have trouble reading anything above 2 gb however.

The pioneer that im looking at has a rear AUX input so I think that will do. Maybe Ill save money for that ipod adapter later on.

thanks again

I have a similar pioneer head unit and it has about 6" of space in the back. If it is too big, you can always make it fit in the lower slot which has more space.
