Shiloh,
I know this may have been answered before, but I searched and didnt find an answer to my specific question.

I just ordered my Joe P MBC from Forced Performance, and I was wondering how high I can turn up the boost, on a stock fuel pump without runing into lean/fuel cut issues. It is a 1992 Tsi AWD and mostly stock except for a K&N and boost guage.

he'd also need a translator which is another 200$. I wouldn't mess w/ setting it up as blowthrough until I had it running right as a drawthrough though. I'd get it tuned right and once it ran fine, don't bother switching unless you want to vent.

17psi and it ran like a rock for 2 months. After the 2 months all of my parts were in and I installed my setup I have now. It NEVER bucked or hit fuel cut the whole time. The stock fuel system is stronger than most people give it credit for. The system is set to run pretty rich from the factory.

*Do this at your own risk. I did and I was fine, but you might have a different result.*

As for the 255 pump....

A low pressure will overrun a stock FPR at idle. This is something I was wondering until one of the wisemen corrected me. I have been running my Low Pressure 255 for alittle over a year and it is still going good. I am going to be purchasing an AFPR with all of the correct SS lines in the future.

So as for now, you can get by with a Low Pressure 255 without an AFPR, but you will need one eventually. This is all for a system already set with a larger turbo/injectors with some way to tune it all.:thumb:

It's not just to vent, if you have a 1g MAS then it can only handle up to 300 or so HP and then can no longer handle anymore. You then will need to switch to the GM MAS with translator and possible blow through, which does help in venting to the Atmoshere.

You can only fool the 1g MAS so far just like you can only fool the stock ECU so far when it comes to injector sizes, then you need a stand alone after that and that gets tricky

with the stock fuel pump and on 14 psi, i got 12 counts of knock at the higher RPM ..... so if you dont plan on upgrading your fuel components, dont bother going near 14 psi, you'll just run lean under WOT...
