what is the most some of you guys
have safely boosted on your dsms, ( of course considering you have supporting
fuel, and exhaust, and mls gasket mods )

Say you have the max amount of flow and fuel and etc.
what is the top amount one would think a 2.0 dsm engine can handle on a stock
bottom end, I kno the tech guide mentioned roughly 400 hp, but how much boost does that
translate to. Are forged internals, lower compression pistons needed to go past 400 on
a dsm. But mainly I just want to know the max boost level on stock internals approximately.

* And no I wont be trying to max out I only have a 14 b and mild mods. Im just
asking for my own knowledge.

I was running a 35R at 30psi daily for six months and then i stepped it up to 35psi (NO KNOCK) for about two weeks before the wrist pin broke off of the piston

The skys the limit. Some might take some fabrication to install. That question is a little vauge. Figure what your goals are for your car such as hp, ect. That is where you should start from.

Im planning on running mid 20's on my evo3 this spring with arp studs and head gasket, some may say its over kill but id rather be on the safe side just in case, as shaunman1979 saied, in terms on turbo sizing its always better to look what kind of power, torque boost levels and what not you want from your car nterms of goals and numbers before goign crazy on deciding what turbo to get, just my .02.

I want to figure out some things.

this is my setup now and i want to know how much boost i can flow to not blow my engine.

i dont have forged internals*

apex'i n1 3" catback
apex'i 3" downpipe
injen intake kit with apexi filter
greddy type-s blow-off valve
magnecor competition 8. 5Mm spark plug wires
ngk spark plugs
walbro 255lph fuel pump
pte 580cc injectors
obx intercooler 600x300x75 with 70mm piping
big TD06H turbo (20G)

now im daily driven with 19psi but im thinking can i go up for a 24-26 psi?

95' Eagle Talon TSI AWD
*sorry for my english

know about injectors i think going to 880cc because mine injectors on 21psi working on 80% and its the end of it ;)

i tune with DSMlink v3

Ive always used a Felpro composite and ARP studs with stock guts. Right now, Ive got the boost set as high as my turbo can produce, which is 28PSI, dropping to 24 ish by 7500 RPM on 93 pump. If you are patient and tune and log carefully, the stock guts will be just fine. Ive got it running 11:1 AFR dead nuts at WOT through the entire RPM range, and my timing begins at 9* at peak torque and ramps to 15* and the most knock I ever let it see is 1-2 counts.

Im running 32psi on a hx40 on the stock internals for the past year. Before that i was running 26psi on a bastard 20g for a little over a year. Ive put 33k miles at over 26psi. The motor was rebuild with std size oem parts by the previous owner. Its all in the tune. The right tune will help you achieve high boost on the stock internals.

[ame=http://youtu.be/eJvhZ1GXPxw]4g63 stock bottom end 650+whp Dsm - YouTube[/ame] This is a stock block doing 650hp

It's become we'll known amung the holset crowd that 30+ can be safe if tuned correctly. I've personally run 32 psi for about 6 months now everyday on my stock motor and plan to continue till it lets go.

Also ostar put down 750 an retired the stock bottom end.

Just tune till no knock once get knock back down a little. Just expect more hp then stock it can blow anytime. The rods and pistons dont have a brain or mouth and are going to say hey man im ganna blow. It's all luck just get a good tune and hope it holds. Now that you have the basic smarts... You can see that alot people have made good numbers on these cars so if your maintenance is good then push it and expect it to come back good just dont expect last to long with alot of abuse.
