Max Boost on stock 1g

Hi my name is Branden and i recently bought a 1990 eagle talon tsi awd it has 140,000km and it runs pretty well. it has a small oil leak but other then that drives well. Im woundering how much boost i could run on it without running any mods. Its 100% stock and i want to turn up the boost. What would be a safe PSI for this car. Im new to the DSM engine

you can run up to 16psi with the stock injectors. id fix the leaks and do maintenance before turning up the boost

I'd not go higher then 14psi. Even with boost spikes I'd keep it under that. Do maintenance first, check that timing belt.

Make sure you fix any problems first, and then do all your free mods before you turn up the boost. No more than 16psi on stock system.

Do ALL of your maintence First no matter how bad you want to mod it and as said before i suggest not to go over 14-15 psi. After your maintence get a good Aftermarket Boost gauge to put in since our stock ones are junk.

Im running 15lbs on my 90GSX with stock injectors and fuel pump. Like everyone else said make sure to do all maintence first. Mine only spike to 16-16.5, some would say I am pushing mine however I feel safe with my 15lbs. Its been like that for 2 months now with no problems.

maintence first is a must. when mine was stock i ran 15psi then it peaked at 19 and i had head lift..

Before you turn up the boost buy an aftermarket boost gauge so you know how much boost you are actually making.

+1 on boost gauge and maintenance. I'd change that timing belt and check ALL of your vaccum lines first. A boost leak test will tell you if any lines needs replacing. Also, check your Turbo for any shaftplay, as it WILL affect your boost. After all of that, drop in some 550cc injectors and a bigger fuel pump, then you can boost 20psi. Oh, I see you mentioned AWD, so check your differential fluids. Its a basic task, very simple, and its done in the same fashion as checking/refilling the transmission oil. Gotta learn how to walk before you can run brah. Do your maintenance and afterwords focus on fuel management before even turning up the boost. Sometimes more boost might actually be worse for the car.
