i just got my master power turbo in and i am writing a review.

the turbo is a t3/t4 turbo: its a gt45 compressor wheel with a p trim exhaust wheel. the exhaust housing is .96 ar with a t3 flange

here are a few pics to get the review started.i will try to get to the dyno asap i would like to get some hp numbers and maybe a few videos.i will be glad to answer any questions the best that i can thanks

Looks just like a XS power....I hope you have good luck with this turbo...when does the testing begin


by far not any crap made by xs power. the quality of the turbo is %100 better.hopefully it will be installed and to the dyno by next weekend.

Thats a big bi*** LOL...ive been very interested in these turbos for awhile, its nice to see someone going in regardless of everyones opinions that always fly.
 
i have a full race t3 exhaust manifold. my block is built and i am running 288 bc cams and a sheet metal intake. i have most supporting mods i hope.
 
I hope that it works out for you, but I do have some reservations of the turbo and its wheel sizing.

The turbo is going to have issues as it is going to be a massive choke monster from running a 76.5mm inducer/103.5mm exducer 55-trim compressor wheel, with a 64.5mm inducer/74mm 76-trim exducer in a tiny 0.96 A/R T3 flange is asking for extremely high turbine housing back pressure issues and compressor surge issues.

That turbine wheel is smaller than a GT4088R wheel (77mm exducer), and that wheel is choked in a 0.95 A/R T4 divided housing at 40psi+. Heck, and that is with a 63mm inducer/88mm exducer compressor wheel in a 4" anti-surge cover.

To put it into perspective -- a properly sized GT4508R runs a 87mm exducer turbine wheel, and regularly comes in a range of 1.01 to 1.44 A/R T4 divided flanges with a 4 3/4" V-band outlet, and is efficient up to 47-50psi of boost with the proper turbine wheel and housing.

The 1.44 A/R T4 can flow ~47lb/min exhaust gas flow from a pressure ratio of 2.25 and higher. A 1.01 A/R T4 can flow ~40lb/min exhaust gas flow from a pressure ratio of 2.25 and higher. A 0.94 A/R T4 can flow ~30lb/min exhaust gas flow from a pressure ratio of 2.25 and higher. Your 0.95 A/R T3 flows around 25lb/min exhaust gas flow at the same pressure ratios.

You might be able to spool it and make ok power, but you are going to run into problems in medium to high boost pressures with that small of a turbine wheel and turbine housing.

Also, after doing a little more research, it is much more like a Turbonetics T-76 turbo with a P-trim turbine wheel in a 0.96 A/R T3 housing. They claim it can do upwards of 950HP. The compressor map for their T-76 runs out of steam at ~40psi, and is at 65% peak efficiency at this pressure level. As well, the GT-K1000 and Super T76 use a 0.96 A/R T4 housing with a T-76 compressor wheel in an anti-surge compressor housing, and a Q-trim wheel on the turbine side.

As well, for your supporting modifications, I would strongly reccomend adding BRAKES and SAFETY EQUIPMENT to your list of things to do. That turbo's compressor wheel at least, has the capability of 1000+WHP. I am guessing (SERIOUSLY, ONLY GUESSING) that you will see flow issues around 550-650WHP with a 0.94 A/R T3 flange turbine housing, requiring a change in turbine housings to T4, along with an adaptor flange, or a whole new manifold.

FYI -- Master Power DOES make a 0.96 A/R undivided T4 turbine housing with a V-band exit on it. I believe that this will help in increasing overall power, but the turbine wheel size will still be the limiting factor at that point, and will run out of steam before the compressor wheel does.
 
There are plenty of turbo mustang guys running these turbos with success. There are also 2 guys on dsmtimes in the low 9s on a master power t-70s. And few other dsmers. I plan on running master power a t4 t61. They are not bad turbos.

To the op, that turbo seems a lil to big tho.

The only person I know who ran a Masterpower T70 is Yusuf on his Evo 2 -- that was 10.3's.

Sure people run them, and they are better quality than lets say... an SS Autochrome, but these are whole different levels.

Yea you are right, i thought awile ago i saw 2 on there in the 9s, but i was mistaken, it was just that evo going 10.3s. I was getting the master power powerd low 9sec mustangs confused with the dsms running them.

Amen! Theres a 10% rule that we all should understand. There's a reason why a turbo with a compressor no bigger than 10% more of the turbine diameter is a good match of wheels.
