Well my car is having a hard time getting into gears without giving it a little force. I have a new clutch and everything. But didn't replace the slave or master. Its gonna be going on 94 tsi awd. I noticed it was a little wet down underneath the dash by the master and the slave looked wet also. I didnt notice any lose in fluid. So you think this is my problem and if so is this a good buy? Or what are some good places for purchase?

I had the same problem, you won't notice loosing alot fluid. In my case it was very slow leak. As for where to get it, I just went to the autozone and picked them up. They have worked fine since, no problems. But make sure to replace both, don't make my mistake and just replace the master cylinder. After driving around for a couple of days my slave blew out and couldn't get it to go into anygears.

If you are in a tight pinch for money, you can buy a master cylinder rebuild kit from autzone, kragen, napa, etc... These work great and i have never had a problem with mine. If you think your slave cylinder is bad, i would get a new one or find a used one somewhere.

Your in Iowa I see, I have a suggestion for you replace both at the same time and buy them from a place like autozone or orielys. they should have liftime warranties, so you can really go wrong cause they take only 30min to replace. Also when you bleed them If you dont have a bleeding buddy use a bottle with a hose hooked up to the bleeder screw. And one more thing you will need to completly drain the lines. I had fine metal shavings in mine from the master going out. Good luck.

I would not buy a part store crap slave or master cylinder. Buy OEM. Ive seen advanced auto parts slave cylinder boot just rip it was so weak. Also my brothers master cylinder went bad and he bought a advanced one. It still would not shift right. We put on a used OEM one and it worked great. The auto part store one did not even work new.

Yea it not a problem have a dealership I can goto. But just wondering if theres a difference or maybe would a rebuild kit do that job? Or is there not oem kits?

Im not sure about rebuild kits. That link I posted sells the master for $70, thats like half the price that the dealer will charge and its OEM. I think they also sell they slave cheap. The AWD and FWD slaves are different to my knowledge.
