I have already searched and searched but still cant find an answer. I have a 98 GSX. My maplights (the ones in the rearview mirror) do not come on at all---not when I open the doors and not when I flip the switches to turn them on. Also, when I open the passenger door the floor lights come on but no map lights. When I open the drivers door, no lights come on at all. Also, the sunroof is dead.... Cant get it to move at all using the switch. Any clues on what my issue may be or if the lights/sunroof may be linked to a common problem? Thanks in advance.

check your fuses - under the hood check the fuses in the yellow holder "IOD Illumination". that'll be a good start. after that go through all your fuses under the hood and inside the car by the driver kick panel.

use a multi-meter to test for voltage. both sides of the fuse should have the same voltage (either O pn both sides or 12 on both)

Start with that.

Thanks for the info--I have already checked all fuses (my bad for not mentioning that in my post) but I havent tried a multi-meter. Ill give that a shot and see what I come up with. Thanks again!

I have the same problem, same car. I have checked all my fuses, the ones under the hood, and by the kick panel, all of them are good. I can not find the problem, can anyone help. I took the headlineroff motor and switch are good, and the little computer thing have tried three of them. Can anyone please help.

i just fixed my sunroof... well it hadn't been working for about a year.. and all of curiosity i decided to check today. And all it was was the friggggggnn switch that was not giving contact. so i popped open the lid of the switch where you push to move the sunroof open or close. and all i did was push in with my fingers and it moved it. So sometimes its not so difficult. i can be just the switch that doesnt work.

Yesterday my dome lights stopped working. They were just working, then I started the engine and they went off forever. My car doesn't have sunroof, just three lights, one when you open the door and two that turns on by buttons. Checked the fuses related to it and they are fine. Radio, dashlights, ashtray, cigarlighter, all of them work. Is it possible all the three bulbs burnout in the same time?
