So i bought a 1997 eclipse Gs for my first car. We drove it 100 miles to ware i live. All the lights worked. The next day I went out to the car to take the aftermarket radio out (the guy before i had it took it out and never mounted it in correctly). A few hours later I went to move the car ( it was dark out) i turned the lights on, i noticed that the dashlights and taillights were not on ( the SRS light is light up on the dash), The headlights do work and the brake lights work also. i have looked at all of the Fuses in the engine bay fuse box and the interior fuse box and all the fuse were good. I have ran out of ideas. If someone could help me out or appoint my to a very in depth wiring diagram, it would be very appreciated. Thanks

this may be too simple, but maybe the dimmer by your left knee(if your sitting in driver seat) is turned all the way down?

edit: just saw you said your taillights were not working as well. Maybe the dual fillament bulbs are bad? happened to me when I first bought my gst. The 1157 bulbs have 2 fillaments in them and maybe one went bad(which is the one that usually stays on with headlights)

The same thing happened to me. Apparently my car ate the fuse, because it had vanished. It ended up being that the fuse wasn't in the slot for the taillights/dash lights.

The other culprit can be that your dimmer switch is no good.

or

You have some sort of wiring issue.

check the relay under the hood. cant remember which one it is. but on my 1g the contacts where the relay sits were whored out and loose. same symptoms. wiggle them all and see if the lights turn on.

I wiggled them around, and nothing happened. Im going to go get an ohmmeter tonight to see if im getting current to the dimmer and im going to check the relays. Any other common places to check? Thanks for replying so quickly

Sometimes the dimmer wire behind the radio will try to ground itself out if it isn't covered or connected. Happened to me and blew the taillight fuse and the gauge fuse.
