Mani and turbo setup

What's up every? It's been a LONGGGG while since I've last posted on this forum or even been in the DSM theme. I've recently been thinking about grabbing another 1G, and just kind of going over possible parts right now. If I do end up picking another dizzum I'm thinking I will want a 400ish pump gas street car with occasional trips to the strip in Vegas since its only about an hour from me. What do you all think about this match up?

Would this make for a decent spooling set-up? Obviously I'll have all the supporting mods, fuel, tuning etc. How horrible would it be trying to street drive this? Any insight would be great!

Edit: It will not be a DD, so I'm not to incredibly worried about its street-ability, just curious how it would act on the street.

The turbo and manifold you listed will work well for your goals. If you wanted to save money on the manifold and wg, you could get a FPgreen or HTA71 and use the stock manifold:

if youre looking to make 400 whp you need to start thinking about building a motor and big daddy tranny

Well IMO I would see how heathy the motor is and run the stock block until id dies

Ive always been a fan of the FP Green I currently running a t3 GT3582R its a very nice drag racing turbo since am on the 9;1 compression it has descent responce 609 hp on E85

Oh yeah You will need to ivest on a transmission


if its not going to be your DD I would look in to E85 and put the 1g on a diet
got with a garret or FP turbo

I'll run the stock motor till she dies!! Then I have an excuse to rebuild without the wife getting mad
I still have a shep built tranny from my old 91 TSI a couple years ago so trans isnt a worry at all.

I've looked into E85 a lot actually and tossed the idea of it around a few times, but the only way for me to get it here (That I know of) is to buy it by the drum. Or go to vegas with some jerry cans haha. We dont have a E85 pump here in St. George. So now I'm playing with the Idea of just some pump 93 or possibly 100LL. I got the hook on that stuff from my pilot buddy.

I really like the 71HTA, but I prefer the PTE with T3 housing to the bolt on MHI housing because the T3 housings flow more, seem to have better power outputs and just dont stop pulling. I had a the FP green on my old talon and loved it, great turbo but when I switched to a BW with T3 housing I fell in love with that housing
