So a 1g CAS plug can be costly, even just the connector itself. I decided i wanted to find an alternative, and I believe I did. Walking by a (Hyundai Elantra) (also saw the same connector in other Hyundai's) next to a few other DSM's at the junkyard I notice that their MAF connector wire looks a lot like our 1G CAS connector, I took it home and noticed it was a 90% match, all I had to do was use a thin tip of a Dremel and open up one side of the connector just a bit, and just like that I found a new solution for a common costly problem. It cost me $2.00 USD for the connector with pigtails and 2 minutes with the Dremel.

I have never seen a write up about this so i hope it helps. !

{this for when no CAS plugs are found anywhere in the other cars that use them}

LOL wish I could find more of these cars at the yard might be a great idea to collect a few of these but over the years other solutions have come up, a few EBay listing sell the connector without the need for any modifications.

Just circling back to old threads I have forgotten over the years.
