Major intake problem

Ok, Got some real good help on gettin my car started from people on here. Now I need help again. My intake itself is now completely off, when i put it on and plug in the sensor it shuts the car off completely and wont let it start, but as soon as i take it off my car started. Im puzzeled by this and wanted to know if anyone has had a problem like this?

Are you talking about your mass air flow sensor? How well does it run without one?

Yea, the mass air flow sensor. It wont run with it in, but ran okay last night. now its so damn cold out I cant get the damn thing to start. and I have work at 5:30, and i dont like being late....

Check the MAF to see if debris is blocking the passages.

so the car starts with the air meter unplugged and when it's plugged in the car doesn't? Just making sure I'm understanding this correctly?

correct the car runs with out maf sensor plugged in but will stall if not given gas

Go to your advanceauto parts/autozone and buy MAF sensor cleaner. clean it while the motor is running and is out of the intake. If that doesn't work. try a new sensor . maybe a vacuum hose could be solving this?

Ok, I jus ordered a new maf sensor....jus waitin for it to come in........I'll keep you guys posted on weather or not it fixed my problem of the car not running right, if not I'll need more help

Another thing to check is the the connection from the MAF to the engine harness. On my 1.8 some how I bent one of the prongs on the MAF connection when I was changing the filter and it ran like shit till I figured out what was the problem.
