My driver door was sagging and it got to the point that I had to do something about it. I planned on loosening the hinge bolts, jacking up the door and tightening, but when I loosened the bolts, I found that the two threaded inserts that hold the hinge to the frame have rusted out and I cannot get my door back on. See attached.
I have the door off now and not sure exactly how to approach this. One idea was to take a piece of metal stock, weld on some nuts and weld it to the frame; although this would raise the hinge slightly from the frame. Another idea was to simply weld the hinge directly to the frame. I'd appreciate if I could get some ideas on how to tackle this. Especially from someone who may have had this problem before and fixed it.
