If you install the MAFT on the UIC, I gather that you can use a straight intake pipe, and you do not have to recirculate the BOV. However, if you install the MAFT on the intake instead, would you have to recirculate?

Yes because the maf already counts that air, then it adds the amount of fuel, but when you blow off the air it would run rich because it already accounted for that air with fuel. If its in the intake recirculate.
 
Thanks a bunch. If I place it on the intake, I won't have to get a new intake pipe! :D
