Ok I just got a maf translator and my question is if I have a afcII that has already been fully tuned can I hook up the translator in blowthrew mode and set the injector size with out messing with the tune of the car or will it need to be retuned to because of the addtion of the gm sensor. If i can hook it up with out retuning the afc should i just set the injector size and zero out the rest of the knobs:dsm:

It will be flowing more air -
you will need to re-tune.

But yes - you can set it for your injectors - then Zero out the AFC and fine tune with it.

ok so if i hook up the maf and translator i should have a good enough tune to run the car untill i can get a logger to tune it or have it dynotuned

It all depends on how close to the ragged edge your car was tuned before.
If the tuning pushed the envelope than the change in the airflow metering could be potentially damgerous. If you truely are putting down 358.7 whp and 319.2 lb-ft/torque on 550cc injectors I wouldn't let too much time pass between installing the MAFT and getting the car back on the dyno.

my plan was to hook the maf tommorow and the drive it like 20 miles to extreme motor sports to tune it. I was just going to have them hook it up for me but the wanted like $400 dollars to put the sensor in the intake pipe the 150 for the tune. so i wold reather do the install my self I am just not good with tuning at all it is like egyption to me. I just cant understand it. Though I have never really had any one explain it to me either

There are threads in the tech articles on MAFT installation. Really simple process. I donno why the charge $400 just to install it.
